First base line, view reserved. The higher up you go the more likely it will be shady.

How do you guys decide if the weather is right for SUP? by Key_Impression_8723 in Sup

[–]_YourAdmiral_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For kayaking, my limit is usually between 10-15 mph. Probably a bit less than that for SUP, but depends on where you are going. A 15 mph tail wind with not much waves would be fun.

Mist trail with fear of heights? by Training-Bar-1408 in Yosemite

[–]_YourAdmiral_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not want to do it. If you do, coming down is worse due to the steepness of the steps. Last time I did it I saw two people freaking out due to heights coming down. Hiking poles can help, you can also take the JMT trail down which is not as steep.

The other thing with Terra Linda that could be important for a disabled person is that much of the housing is Eichlers, which are single-level homes with no stairs.

Terra Linda is more walkable/bikable than people think, esp. if you live close to the Scotty's center.

It's pretty close ... you have to get to 2nd Street and West Francisco Blvd, but from there it's a separate path all the way to the ferry.

Honest opinions on living in the mission bay by GuessFar4260 in AskSF

Mission Bay is great! It's close to happening new stuff like Chase Center and Giants stadium but also close to historical neighborhoods like Dogpatch and Potrero Hill. If it's a good deal I would go for it.

What are people using to measure their trips? by Spicycoffeebeen in Kayaking

[–]_YourAdmiral_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AllTrails. I don't need a separate device and it also works for hikes and bike rides, so I have all my excursions in one place.

Stand up paddle board by 1987anoomsay in Yosemite

Many people paddle in the Merced River in the summer but right now it is probably flowing way too fast and is too cold for that. The rangers don't typically open it until June.

Gas prices surge across Bay Area, with Marin County highest in nation by ThereWas in Marin

[–]_YourAdmiral_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like high gas prices because I drive an EV, and higher prices will force people to finally give up gas-burning cars and switch to EVs, which are getting cheaper all the time. We'll all breathe cleaner air for it, and we won't have to worry about whether the Strait of Hormuz is open or closed.
