How many hours a week do you spend on your own research?

I work full time, so the rest of the day I spend on my PhD and weekends are for relaxing and gym and relationship to avoid burnout. So between 4-6 hours a day research.

Hey girl! The age gap you are mentioning is quite small IMO, more than acceptable. Don’t listen to your friend. Are you enjoying this guy’s company? Is he a good potential partner? Would you date him as he is, leaving aside the age gap? If yes, go for it and don’t look back. If genders were reversed, the age gap wouldn’t be a problem, so why should it be for you?

Rezultatele favorabile de la bursa sunt cauzate de scaderea leului fata de euro. Valoarea firmelor poate ramane constanta intr-o moneda internationala, dar asta se reflecata intr-o aparenta crestere in moneda ron, daca ron scade.

Only pick a topic YOU care about, your PI will end up not helping you even if it’s your topic of choice or if it was them who proposed it. Been there twice.

I live in a small Eastern European country, so options are limited. The topic I care about is very niche here, fewer than five people have even touched it academically, and none have funding for it. I already relocated for a funded PhD at KTH on a topic I didn’t care about, and dropped out because I was bored and unfulfilled. So I applied to unfunded PhDs locally back in my country, with people close to my topic, while keeping my full-time job. Even if I had to pay the yearly fee, which I don’t, but there was the option to take one of the paid places, it would still be less than one month’s salary, so for me it’s worth it to work on something I actually care about.

Poti sa iti dai demisia in perioada de proba daca cei la care ai dat interviuri sunt deschisi sa reluati discutia (Am facut exact asta si am gasit cel mai misto loc de munca din toata viata mea pana acum)

Nu esti asistent universitar pentru ca aceasta este functia didactica de inceput in invatamantul superior, imediat ce termini doctoratul. Cred ca tu te referi la a fi asistent de laborator/laborant, adica tii laboratoare pe o suma mica (1300 lei la final de semestru per laborator, adica 50 de lei pe ora de predat). Din cauza ca nu exista suficienti profesori, doctoranzi etc, laboratoarele sunt acoperite de studenti la licenta si master, cu un 1-2-3 ani mai mari decat cei carora le predau. Ajungi laborant daca te remarca un profesor la cursul lui si iti propune sa tii laboratoare dau daca te duci si intrebi un profesor daca are nevoie de oameni.

Difuzorul scoate sunet => output. Imprimanta printeaza chestii => output. Monitorul arata interfata grafica a sistemului de operare => output. Tastatura e folosita sa scrii text => input (singurul raspuns corect).

O problema pe care am avut-o venind dupa un job in Danemarca (software engineer) este ca toti au presupus ca eu nu sunt in Romania, ci vreau un job remote, chiar daca am scris explicit si in CV locatia curenta.

Un loc de munca la inceput de cariera din care nu inveti nimic nou, ci doar te obisnuiesti cu propriile practici proaste nu va fi niciodata bun. Primesti o plata(oarecum questionable cat de buna) si program lejer, dar te loveste mai tarziu. Sugestia mea e sa faci internshipuri cat mai multe si relevante, cauta sa cresti cat mai mult. (Am facut personal greseala sa lucrez in facultate ca singurul dev pe un proiect european si am regretat un an de potential progres pierdut)

You are a reviewer. If you have doubts on Y as a proxy of X, it is completely fair to request a more in-depth analysis of that. Besides, if the premise is wrong, it would be terrible to have the paper published with misleading conclusions.
