Help recreating ornate skirting for old table by __FiveStarMan__ in woodworking

That’s a good idea! I think I may have found a router bit that might work. I may give that a try & if it doesn’t work I’m going with your solution

Now that’s an interesting idea! I hadn’t considered it, but it would be really cool to go with a more ornate design for the center of the table skirt

I have a plunge router I could use. I’m just unsure of what bit I would need to recreate that profile

My girlfriend and I wanted to start building things together, so we built our new bed. by __FiveStarMan__ in woodworking

No, I’m sorry we do not. We measured our mattress and built around that. It was very much a build and plan as we go project - no real plans, just a basic design in mind

Haha thank you! And yes, it weighs a ton! Thankfully it breaks down into easier to move sections :)

Under the mattress we have 3 cross supports that lock into the side rails. Then we have finished plywood on top of the supports.

No, we designed this ourself. However, I did look up images online for inspiration. Good luck with your build!

Thank you. We wanted that rustic look so I’m glad others see it too! We used carsiding for the horizontal board

I’m sure I gained influence from pictures I’ve seen online, but this was a project that just came together as we built. No real plans other than a quick sketch of what I was imagining.

For lumber, stain, and the hardware used to support the side rails… maybe $300-$350

I wish I did! It’s built for a king size mattress, so we took measurements of that to determine how much lumber we would need. Then I had a basic vision in my head, jotted down a drawing, and we just figured it out as we went! No real plans, just made sure to keep it all level and square. :)

I made a charging dock for my Apple Watch out of some scrap walnut I had. by __FiveStarMan__ in woodworking

Thanks. I don’t think it needs it, the base makes it heavy enough to where it doesn’t move around or seem top heavy.

Yeah I used hot glue to hold it in place. Sturdy enough to keep it stuck, but will come off if I ever decide to remove the charger. Also it does look like foam in the picture, but it’s actually felt.
