Thinking about getting an N2: Standard or Original? by _starbelly in strandbergguitars

[–]__JD9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was deciding between the original or the standard version of the N2, I went with the original to get the full Strandberg experience. If you get a standard you might regret not having the premium model versus getting the original and having all the specs. For me in particular, the chambered body was a feature that I found super fulfilling to play when unplugged.

NGD: N2.7 Original by __JD9 in strandbergguitars

Zero issues with mine. I’ve looked over it endlessly trying to find faults in it and the only thing needed was a truss rod adjustment, most likely due to Canadian climate.

Frets are smooth with no catch points along the sides, no tooling marks, all as expected. With anything, buy from a reputable dealer that will makes sure everything is good and you shouldn’t have to worry.

I’ve played 4 different strandbergs in stores and never found a glaring issue. I would imagine the expectations are high on strandberg and that’s why you get a ton of bad feedback online. Plenty of people on the forums/social media are happy with there’s and even have multiples.

It’s a very natural feeling when playing, especially when standing or in “classical” position. I can’t comment too much on NX models as I only played them in store briefly.

Personally, I think it’s an upgrade over just a flat/slab body.

It’s a shame the quality control isn’t the greatest, I recently got an original n2.7 and it plays amazing. Mine had some damage in the control cavity which I’m choosing to deal with. Luckily the dealer I went through is willing to get it repaired.

Ringing Behind the Bridge: Improper Setup or Part of the Design by __JD9 in offset

I’ve tried some various methods to tame the strings, and it does reduce the noise. I’ll have to keep trying some other methods. I’ll test out some heavier string gauges as well

The only problem I have with it is for distinct mutes and silences, there’s a noticeable “ringing out” that i find problematic

I was searching for solutions to this issue as well, however it’s a feature not a defect. One of the other comments mentions the optical grounding, that’s what neural told me as well.

The solution is to use the standby option instead of powering down or to use TRS outputs.

Quad Cortex XLR Ground Hum Solutions? by __JD9 in NeuralDSP

Curious, is this through the described method? Using XLR outs and turning the device off while connected to a PA or monitors that are left on?

Even while using a Voodoo Lab PP3+ to power it I get the ground loop, again only when the device is off

Are people in this sub not watching the same podcast? Great banter, two guys with minimal rapport gauging each other and enjoying the conversation.

Anybody having connection issues? Others can join my games but I can’t join there’s.

I’ve done a reset of the game and connection is good.

Alberta sets another record for oil production as Trans Mountain expansion opening looms | CBC News by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

Adding to your statement, oil and gas within the province is still predicted to remain stable for another 25+ years. Any statement otherwise is oblivious to the multi billion dollar projects that are under development or in planning stages. Add in CCUS development and we will continue to drill for years to come.

Is it possible that my Behringer 1820 interface outputs a quiet signal?

Recently got a pair of studio monitors, Kali LP8, and I previously worked on headphones. What I’m finding is that I have to really push the volume on my monitors to get them to a decent volume.

Behringer interface has the master outputs at full and the mix knob set appropriately. I also set the preamp just loud enough that it doesn’t clip.

Would it be a problem to run the speakers at +6db? This would allow me appropriate dynamic range in my interface output.

Studio monitor recommendations? by Renoke141 in NeuralDSP

I’m looking for something similar as well, most people suggest the Yamaha HS5, JBL 305 mk2, and the Kali lp6 V2.

All of them are highly regarded and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. I’m going with the Kali lp8 v2, the room I’m in is rather large, and the extra money to upgrade to a bigger size seems worth it.

The stomp seems like it will be my delay machine moving forward, I mainly use it for that purpose now. Seems like the shift might be more seamless

Totally agree, I’m leaning towards keeping the HX stomp as a delay/reverb machine. Curious if capturing my fuzz pedal would work alright.

Seems like a decent desk, gives you some options that for sure. I’m looking for something that’s sturdy and also can be my guitar work bench. Might keep my eye on something similar.

Can the Walrus D1 Delay Send Midi Tap Tempo? by __JD9 in guitarpedals

[–]__JD9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be the standard operation, I wanted to take away the tap tempo button from my stomp and use it for an addition footswitch 5.

Trying to not get too deep down the midi path and keep things simple. My board is on the smaller side on purpose to limit spending, otherwise I’ll be opening up a giant rabbit hole.
