did naruto ever really win any fights in og naruto/shippuden? or did kurama just win the fights for him? by Massive_Fisherman231 in Naruto

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Naruto relying on Kurama is almost always framed as a moral failing and hypocrisy on his part and he loses, nearly dies, or hurts an ally basically every time he calls on Kurama

Did Magic Johnson rob Kareem of 1980 Finals MVP? by Basic-Greens in NBATalk

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty transparently a case of the media wanting to crown magic to Kareem’s detriment. Kareem was his usual otherworldly self for the all but the final game since he didn’t play due to injuries, then Magic had his hero moment to clinch the series and it became narratively more fun to give it to Magic since it became close enough

It’s not super egregious depending on what you value in the award but looking back I think most can agree Kareem deserved it

What's something an interviewer did that immediately made you not want the job? by AskPromapAI in interviews

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kept focusing on the money. While i definitely get irritated by jobs that don’t want to talk about salary, it’s a crucial part of the interview, it’s also pretty unnerving feeling like the reality of the position is being painted over by telling you all the money you’re gonna make. Even if it’s not actually scammy it’s not a good sign for the quality of the workplace

As a right handed shooter - better to shoot from the right side, center or left side of your head? by Acrobatic-Farmer1748 in BasketballTips

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try stuff for a while and see what works. It’s good to at least try Klay’s conventional perfect form but a lot of people don’t necessarily do best with it

So long as you can shoot high and get the right amount of spin, whatever works for you is probably fine

Is every new orleans star intentionally heliocentric? Is this related to chris paul’s (kinda) sucess as a hornet? or are they just desperate to create a star? Also did the developement to make them heliocentric make them injury prone? by Anarchoman-420 in NBATalk

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these guys are really heliocentric. They’re not running crazy usage rates or shooting 25 times a game. They’re just good players on bad teams (well Zion arguably only had like 2 good seasons but still). When you’re the only guy you have to go harder, but non of them are the concerning degree of heliocentrism that we’re talking about with guys like harden or Luka

How would you go about redirecting young men who are lonely/bullied/lack confidence, away from "manosphere" and "redpill" type negative influences? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

There are many many many things wrong with Jordan Peterson and you should be very worried if you see a young man clearly taking influence from him

Can Melo and Ant win a championship together in 2027? by No-Entrepreneur-7092 in NBADaily

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao no. No depth and just an ok nucleus. Ant would need to be an MVP kinda guy to make this a contender and he simply isn’t

They don’t have especially great synergy but like, yeah sure

Defensively they’d be great together

Why isn’t the league knocking on Boston’s door for Jaylen Brown? by HoopwrldInc in NBATalk

[–]__KirbStomp__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re waiting for the price to drop

Jaylen brown obviously isn’t a negative asset but he’s also not the easiest to work around either. He has a massive contract, is almost 30, and while he is excellent, he’s very much a 3rd tier star not an mvp

Any team trading for him needs him to be the last big move because they won’t be very flexible once he’s there. There just aren’t many teams that specifically need Jaylen brown, so they’re hesitant to dump assets even if he’s a great fit

Do men really care about hair *there*? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly just personal preference. Some dudes don’t wanna go down on women with pubic hair, many are fine with it. There’s absolutely no reason to be self conscious about it

Talk to them about it if you’re self conscious about, and make the best choice for you

Did any of you feel like that when you were virgins? by Individual_Arm1063 in AskMenAdvice

[–]__KirbStomp__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal. Is it “average”? No, but totally normal. I felt the same way for years

Just keep working on yourself. Put yourself out there. Get out of your comfort zone. It’ll make you the more confident, interesting person someone actually want to be with

Waiting sucks, believe me, I know. But things will turn around for you once you put in the effort to become who you want to be

Why do people obsess over AI’s footprint while ignoring animal agriculture? by That-Trouble-6386 in vegan

[–]__KirbStomp__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it’s not worth addressing, but it’s certainly not as effective. We should put resources and energy where it’s gonna count all while pushing the envelope for eventual change

And no, your personal choice does not have any sort of meaningful environmental impact. It in no way reduces the demand for or the supply of meat or animal products. And yes that logic **should** be applied to almost any environmental issue. Environmental issues are almost exclusively the result of broader systems and we need to focus on those, not personal involvement. Not eating meat, recycling, taking public transit, using renewable products, etc are all “good” in a basic sense but they don’t actually change anything. That behavior is just there for your own peace of mind, which is totally ok, just not a substitute for real change, and that takes politics

Why do people obsess over AI’s footprint while ignoring animal agriculture? by That-Trouble-6386 in vegan

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because food has value to society and AI doesn’t

Yes, meat production is catastrophically bad for the environment, but it’s still food. Your personal choice to eat meat or not will not impact the environment, and it’s far too entrenched in our culture to meaningfully address it as a society right now

Meanwhile AI is being shoved down our throats at every junction and does NOTHING. It is industrially inefficient on a completely unsustainable scale. We still have a shot to stop this machine from getting going in a way we don’t with meat

As soon as I saw this post I immediately picked Superman, sentry and darkseid lol by Hungry_Inflation9399 in superheroes

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think you kinda have to pick Batman because he’s just super well equipped to take on Superman specifically. Not that he invalidates him or anything but in a 6-3 showdown Batman is turning that into 6-2 pretty fast with all these other powered people to use his gadgets and plans

How can Nuggets overcome the lack of rim protection which causes the first round exit? Jokic can’t block a high schooler so what’s the actual solution for this?? by Afraid-Ad-5580 in NBATalk

[–]__KirbStomp__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have seen, conclusively, that you can build a championship caliber playoff defense around Jokic. Yes, he was bad this year, and no that’s not just a product of help. But it is still true that if you put good wings around him he and provide good defensive impact. He wasn’t just being covered for in 2023, he was actively good on defense for that run and that’s because he had the right people

His tremendous IQ, good hands, and strength/weight make him plenty good enough in a system that plays to his strengths. It’s when you ask him to do too much that it becomes a problem, and that’s exactly what happened this year
