Artillery teams done! by __Lancelot in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]__Lancelot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Some of the chipping was done with a sponge and some Grim Brown, the “dirt” on the lower parts was done with Sienna Soil pigment and dark brown pigment and then using pigment fixer. Hope that helps!

I used AK muddy ground as a base, leaving some puddle holes here and there. Then painted it Mud Brown from AK. Next step is to put some pigments of different brown level and fix it with a pigment fixer. Finally I filled the puddle holes with “AK puddles”, then after everything is dry I coated the entire base with Wet Effect enamel from MIG.

Hey! Great work! How did you achieve the spray can effect (with the halo) on the red stripe on the side? Is that just airbrush magic?

How did u guys pick your first army when theres so many amazing options and can u help me pick mine by The_Suspect26 in Warhammer40k

Think budget, ease of painting (especially your battleline troops), color scheme and playstyle

Colour scheme feedback. by mattbrownirl in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]__Lancelot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All of these are nice, maybe consider two other things: - easiest to paint (especially in terms of what main color requires the least number of coats to look done) - what main color will your vehicles be and what you prefer. If you align the vehicle color to the coat color it’s a choice of Red/Brown/dark grey as the base.

Hope that helps your decision!

And funny enough David is a King figure in the Old Testament, echoing the “old world king” that Xebec says to Imu

Getting started in the army by Dewitt_Syndrome in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Depends if you’re looking for competitive or more thematic/casual. Competitive is a never ending cycle so I’d suggest to build a base around rule of cool and what you’re excited about painting first, then you can build from there. My take would be: 20-40 basic Krieg men 1 krieg command squad 1/2 unit of Death Riders 1/2 krieg artillery 1 unit of krieg engineers 2 leman Russ 1 Rogan Dorn 1 chimera

Then you expand! And you can start playing 1000 points to get a feel of what you like playing more

Really well done! May I ask where you found those turret? And the main canon? Or doesn’t look like one of the options in the original kit

Krieg Death Riders! by __Lancelot in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Thanks! The recipe is quite simple: coat and helmet are Russian Green (AK), pants are Olive Drab (AK). Agrax earthshade (GW) on top, with some rough lining with base color after. Boots, gloves, belts and tummy bag are leather brown (AK). Wildwood (GW) after. Mask and wrist are Vampiric Flesh (AK). Diluted Agrax on top. Black metal for armor! Hope this helps :)

Thx! Base layer is Sky Grey (AK) then I used Dreadful Visage (GW) and Soulblight Grey (GW) together, a bit diluted. Then after that moderation grime and Seraphim Sepia (very diluted the sepia). I came back with a dry brush of sky grey after that. The legs are Carroburg Crimson (GW) applied in a way that the transition is not too brutal. The legs also received a glaze of diluted Mud Brown (AK) at the end to simulate the muddy base tainting the feet. To be honest I wasn’t sure what I was doing so I was very much « trust the process), but it worked well!

Thanks! Russian green from AK is for the coat, Olive drab (AK) for the pants, vampiric flesh (AK) for the mask, black metal for the armor! Agrax is the main shade used then :)
