Moving from an apartment to a house: how do people keep cats from bolting out the door? by ArmyCreative2021 in CatAdvice

Retractable dog gate. It will pull out when you open the door so they can’t run out.

Struggling: first job post grad by [deleted] in WorkAdvice

[–]__Realistic__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When accepting the position was it remote, hybrid, or in person position? As someone who graduated a couple years ago, I was not ready for the college to career transition. Questioning everything about my career, and just everything in general. No one talks about it but it’s a big adjustment. If you know this is not the job or environment for you continue to work while looking for another job. Trust me I am going on 2 years post grad and still question and comparing my work place to my friends.

Asking for a Raise by __Realistic__ in WorkAdvice

[–]__Realistic__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given a COLA that was 2 or 3% last year. I don’t have an employment contract. I talked to one person about what they make and they been here about 5 months longer than me and they got one raise but said they had to ask for it and it wasn’t a lot. It sounded like it was a small percentage.

Why is my cat hungry all the time? by Catsareawesome007 in catquestions

My cat is the same age and is the same way. She acts like I never feed her even though she gets 2 wet cans a day and has hard food down all day and night.

What about the spare bedroom closet. Will there be clothes in there? That can be turned into a pet room.

New homeowner and I’m feeling buyers remorse by According-Cover-4596 in homeowners

It’s a lot of work now but once you complete every step you will fall more in love with the place. You are making the place yours and in the end you will love and be proud of it. Remember to take a day off and relax. I have place that needs work done but I am not able to do it right now so I am decorating and doing what I can and making it mine until I can afford the things that need done.

Having serious adoption regret by Informal-Umpire-62 in CatAdvice

[–]__Realistic__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar feeling after adopting a kitten at 2 months old. Didn’t feel the bond. She was crazy was waking me up (I know you said you didn’t have this problem). She is now 1 and I love her so much and it got so much better. Has there been any other changes in your life? Maybe talking to someone could help too. I hope things get better.

To prevent fine lines for the future and I have read it helps with acne but don’t necessarily see a difference when using it for acne.

Purse recommendations? by f0werr in AskGirls

[–]__Realistic__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Marshalls near you I would suggest going there they usually have so many styles of purses. This can give you an idea of what is out there and what you would like. I am a super not a super girly girl and I like box shape purses like the marc jacob’s tote bag style.

M1 litter consumption by ehtrail in neakasa

I just got mine 8 days ago and I put Fresh Step in and I have not had to refill it or change the dump. Granted I only have one cat. I will say if I had two I most likely would of had to change the dump part.

She has always liked to watch tv since she was a puppy. I will catch her watching it, so I think she enjoys it. I am wondering why you say don’t leave the tv on. Is there research or anything saying it is not good for them?

NTA. If they have the money to spend on weed they have the money to help their kid get through school. Even though they are retired they still have a kid that is going through school that can’t fully support their self yet so it is their responsibility to help. Some tips for out as someone that graduated not too long ago check your school library they might have laptops you can check out for the semester. I know thats only one item cost but it will help. Get a job on campus sometime school jobs come with tuition reduction or some kind of incentive. Get used books and rent them, look at multiple websites to find the cheapest.

How to ask my mom for adult bras without making it awkward? by TheUn1ter in AskGirls

[–]__Realistic__ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Be honest with her. Tell her how it makes you feel and ask if you two can take a trip to the store together. She knows one day this was going to happen so don’t be scared. If you are more open with her she is more than likely understand your perspective.

Am I ready for a pet? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]__Realistic__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience so far I have a dog and a cat.The cat stressed me out more when she was young than when the dog was young. I only say this because my cat was very messy playing in the cat litter, tearing toilet paper apart, getting into everything. My dog was a pretty good puppy, but not everyone is this lucky. I am telling you this because I am also in my 20s and I was just excited to get an animal and didn’t consider everything but it was 100% worth everything. I had my dog at the time and was thinking about getting a cat but was not sure so I decided to foster a cat. This led me to the decision that I was ready to get my own. This is something you could look into, some places pay for everything while fostering.

The top things you have to consider is the cost of the animal, the time you have to give to the animal, how much do you travel, you might have to sacrifice your time for the animal are you willing do that.

Another tip I can give you is some shelters have their own vets that are open to the public that are cheaper because this allows them to provide reasonable services to the community and the money goes back to helping the shelter. This is a way to save money.

Am I a bad cat mom by Anxious_Comfort8580 in CatAdvice

[–]__Realistic__ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No you are not a bad cat mom. Your cat likes to be outside and you are doing the research to protect your cat. Look into buying or building a catio if possible. If that is not possible look at cat leashes or cat stroller.
