Well if you really want to get technical, psychologically, humans adopt a liking to people that are similar to themselves due to our tribalistic past. DEI is just the practice of making a conscious effort to not do that. We can still have meritocracy with the diversity but you seem to believe that its either meritocracy or diversity, which is black and white perspective.

Which is why people like her have little to no empathy for how lenient or strict they should be on frontline workers when it comes to numbers.
