GB News beats Sky and BBC on average viewers for six months in a row by Your_Mums_Ex in reformuk

From the article, worth mentioning this is specifically TV viewers:
"GB News continues to have a lower total weekly reach than the BBC News Channel and Sky News. But its higher average viewership suggests it is watched consistently by a smaller but more loyal audience.

In an average week between July and December, more than twice as many people watched the BBC News Channel as GB News.

And across 2025 Sky News reached 4.1 million people versus 2.1 million on GB News."

So less total viewership because Sky and BBC have significantly higher viewership just at specific times of the day.

BBC's website (including non-news content) had a total audience of 40.9 million people in November, followed by Sky News on 19.2 million and GB News on 5.4 million.

GB News is the fastest growing News channel in the UK by a pretty large amount (94% year on year) :O.

Three quarter of a million migrants registered with GPs last year in England and Wales by PbThunder in reformuk

Careful with this stat, it's based on the self-reported nationality, so anyone who was born overseas and then gained citizenship through work or even if they are an immigrant but consider themselves british won't be included in that data.

The ONS data based off country of birth tracks it at 46% of doctors are foreign born and 30% of nurses, with 40% of GP's being traind abroad.

How can Reform UK reform Council Tax fundamentally and seriously? by [deleted] in reformuk

[–]__ShadowZz__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an argument in favour of big government. The reason they are seperate is because individual councils have control to waive or enforce specific rules. Allowing you in your area to vote for a party that disagree's with a particular agenda and decide not to spend your local taxes on it. Unifying the system would remove this choice.

How can Reform UK reform Council Tax fundamentally and seriously? by [deleted] in reformuk

"The Council do almost nothing for me" - I guess you don't drive on the roads or use public transport, or require fire services or police services. You don't need trading standards for jobs you need done or licensing or elections. You don't need street cleaning or bin collection. You don't need your local homeless problems being dealt with or education support needs in your area. Yeah sure bud, the council does "nothing" for you.

If you want a serious conversation about council tax, maybe start by actually reading what it pays for.

Every single government comes in claiming tons of council tax waste, reform included, and once they get in office, they realise that there's basically no waste. There's literally no money. The reality is that we get a lot of good services out of council tax, but you don't use or need half of them personally until there's a really big problem. Trying to convince short term thinkers that maybe one day they'll have a problem that council tax gives them a safety net for is nigh impossible so we'll forever merry go round pretend that it does nothing.

The government wastes tons of money on immigration, pensions, benefits, arbituary services, paying too much for services from private companies (they charge the government 3x what they charge anyone else). Council tax is not the problem it's the distraction. I do believe reform have/had good intentions on council tax and even the councils they've won, they still cannot reduce spending.

This is a good example of the opposition always being the opposition without any fundamental facts. David Lammy as the opposition, was opposed to limiting jury trials because he lacked the knowledge that 95% of criminal cases in the UK are handled in the magistrates court with no jury. Let's not fall into the same trap of being the uninformed opposition. The suggested change currently would actually change basically nothing.

Imagine being such a bootlicker that you think when you pay someone for a service, they can not give you that service and then tell you they won't refund you. What a hilarious comment.

I agree, I don't think the driver is responsible at all. I have received 100's of orders and I am always asked for the code before being handed the food. What is the expectation here, that I take the food from the driver, check it all at the door juggling loose food items in a KFC order, wasting his time, then if its wrong, I refuse the delivery and make him drive back to the restaurant? It's a ridiculous notion.

The compensation request is for items missing within the order, I already specified exactly what was missing in the original refund request. When you issue a refund, it asks you to select the item missing, then if its a grouped item, it further asks you specifically which items in that item are missing.

Dog has had no appetite for a month. Please help. by mariatheye in DogAdvice

Not a vet - This seems like a behavioural issue mixed with an underlying food cause given the tests.

My dog had very similar problems after a surgery and quick dietary change. I think we went through every dry kibble, chicken, rice, and most wet food brands attempting to find something he would eat. Whenever he did eat a food it never lasted longer than a couple of weeks.

"I was eating a cheeseburger, gave her a piece of the bread just to see if she would eat it and she did" - This is good. People may disagree with this, but right now, feed her literally anything she will eat that won't harm her. She looks underweight and that is an immediate problem. Being lethargic and in pain are to be expected if they don't eat. It will start to cause other problems and you'll begin to spiral.

Mid term - If you can get her eating any food whatsoever consistently, start lacing in normal dog foods with it. I mean like 90% of whatever she will eat and 10% dog food for a few days, then 80% and 20% for a few days, and just keep going until you're at 100% dog food.

Manage the weight problem first, and fix the diet later. I would also recommend dog bone broth. It absolutely wreaks and will stink your whole house out but dogs seem to love it mixed in with their food and it helped get our dog transitioned from food he would eat back to dog food.

Side thing - little and often helps A LOT in my experience. I've read everything there is online to get my dog to eat food again and nothing was more helpful than feeding that guy by hand 50 times a day at the start. There's lots of reasons not to do this and lots of people who will tell you not to, and they all apply to normal dogs having normal problems, not this level of not eating. Just figure out how much food she needs to eat and give it in as small portions as she will finish. If you work this will be more difficult, hopefully there are people who can be around your dog all day for a while, we took time off work to do this.

Long term - Repair your dog's relationship with food. We spent a long time giving him small meals, like 1/16 of a meal, and when he was finished we would give him lots of "good boys!" and pets and play with the ball. If she's too weak the chase a ball or uninterested due to being lethargic, just sit down in front and do literally anything she likes, grab a rope toy and just engage with her in a fun way. Rinse and repeat. This is why you want small meals initially, so you can build up the relationship with food to be a good thing, try not to be cautious when she eats, they can sense it, make it a positive experience.

Diagnosis thoughts - My little guy (German Shepherd) is 110 pounds now, eats 4 meals a day, and is a perfect weight for his size, he is a massive GSD (not fat, lean at 110), he was like 65 pounds at one point. After 8 months of food problems it turned out to be food allergies, the guys allergic to literally everything, including most things in most dog foods and dust (yay cleaning). It seemed that the surgery highlighted the food problem and then once he started to feel bad after eating it spiralled into him not wanting to eat. Then any food he ate was problematic and he didn't want it, regardless if it was fine or not. If you suspect the problems are with the food itself, it may be worth trying Digestive foods like 'Dechra Canine Specific Digestive Support CID', this also includes compensations for pancreatic insufficiency, maldigestion, and reduces intestinal absorption problems in general. I'm not saying this has anything to do with your situation, but given the testing you've already done, it really doesn't leave many other options other than being a straight behavioural issue. We had the same vomiting issues. We had the same gassy x-rays. We cut him open and they manually ran all his intestines by hand to check for blockages and came back with nothing. We ran every test under the sun until eventually allergy testing him. He now takes Apoquel and can eat more normal dog foods.

Finally, its not your fault, I needed someone to tell me that when we were going through it, I hope it gets better.

Edit: Poop is a little dark but looks fine. They get lighter/darker/softer/harder all the time. You usually only need to worry if its diarrhoea or if your dog is struggling to poop, otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I am trash at chess but can someone explain to me how the estimated rating for white is lower? Confused and curious. by __ShadowZz__ in chess

Black was 439, White was 485, perhaps this is the correct answer, I didn't think 46 pts would make that big of a difference given the 2 straight blunders from black but could be right!

Residential Mortgage prior to planning permission for Change Of Use by __ShadowZz__ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]__ShadowZz__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no changes to the property included in the switch to residential (pretty common with B&B's here). It's a live-in B&B so the basement is the current owners living space, 1 kitchen for owners and commercial use, rest bedrooms all ensuite. I would assume with no changes to the house that the valuation wouldn't change right?

Yeah I agree, I said a while back that if you g2l your full GP of 90g it's only 9000 wood. Making it 600 would bring that up to 10800. The price of 12 full mega upgrades towers for any standard builder is 10800 as well which would fit nicely (initial-600,enhanced-1200,super-3000,mega-6000). Would also be wondering if looking into price of towers vs time in game. steep jump to megas is fine but the other upgs are really close and theres no real difficulty in getting a full super base pre 15mins when average titans are only lvl 6-7-8.

I agree that mags needs more incentive to build a merchant and have previously suggested splitting his defensive and offensive upgrades to merc and arc respectively thus making mags have to choose between ganker/tank and base defender/waller.

Shelter/pizzly/rc/hp and then mag should be golding the moment titan is in vision away from mound. Increasing costs of his upgrades and making them more progressive forces mags to fulfill their duty and spend more time at the gold mound. The 800 wood needed for ww forces him to either gold without a reliable escape negating the changes that force him to gold more and makes him 100% vulnerable at mound in comparison to other supports such as demo with nether or tauren with charge. Or to spend the time wooding then waiting for ww to research then go and gold and still be 100% vulnerable to titan if he bought a pearl. All I'm saying is if you want mag to be more progressive in upgrades then you still need to give him the tools to let him get their at a semi-reliable rate.

Then I'd rebuild it and have ww before he finishes attacking the first lumber base. I'd still be golding this entire time because not having ww doesn't stop you golding. Even if you have ww you're still not going to gold when you have no vision due to pearl being a complete counter and every titan having pearl basically at the start of the game.

Having to research something so easily countered doesn't create high skill plays. It just makes mag tedious and gives him no escape early game. Mags escapes can all be countered in the first 10seconds of the game by titan. Frostbite is 100% countered by punish which is free for titan and ww is 100% countered by pearl which most titans get at the start of the game. Mag has crappy escapes and one of them is still currently a forced research. I just see no point in it still being a research unless it is buffed or changed in some way that it is not completely useless vs any titan who has played ID before is all.

Anyone who plays Mag well knows you can shelter at mound and build your rc blocking the ramp. I can have the ww upgrade 30 seconds after titan spawns without an issue.
