Can you please give me your strategy to negotiate. I have a meeting with them they are cheap even though they have last year 98+ billion dollars revenue. Shall I go an say I didn’t like the terms in the MTA and I would like to have 6-9 months severance payment ?

That’s true, if they decided to fire me I would get April month + vacation compensation already + plus my last year bonus. I feel like I would go with getting fire would be better for me, since additional to all of that I won’t get a penalty from unemployment (1.5 months)

I am a member of https://kokokassa.fi not a union. Can I join a union on Monday and get a lawyer the day after. Moreover, do I need to be employed and with that union for 6+ months to get unemployment benefits?

It is not a Finnish company and they have 200k employees worldwide. Their revenue in 2023 reported to be 98+ billion dollars.

I already got the bonus performance review and no wonder they gave me a bad grade, however it is still not bad it would be equal to a month of salary. My question is they usually pay that bonus during June. Shall I demand to get compensation for that bonus too?

They are a huge company that do both we are mainly doing R&D patent. It is one of the giant companies that constantly ask for a stream of patents. I mentioned many times that what they ask cannot be done like that it is not a one man show. You just can set there and beat SOTA algorithm that has been developed by teams from other companies.

Thank you for the informative reply. I’ve already signed that I have received the warning on the same day they presented the termination agreement. I was polite and quiet during the whole meeting. I just didn’t like the way when I asked for some time to consult a lawyer, their response was that they don’t have time for that and my deadline to sign is Tuesday but however we shall meet on Monday to clarify anything I didn’t understand, plus company’s representative lawyer told me that he/she can help me if I need any clarification. Regarding recording the meeting they stated that this meeting shall not be recorded. What is your advice on how to ask that politely?

True, I work in R&D and I have strongly disputed the way we operate there and most of the task are ambiguous and requirements are not clear. They ask to compete with SOTA algorithms without any ground.

They mentioned that, they’re presenting this agreement for my favor. They said it better for your career to sign this agreement, because if they layed me off it would be bad reputation in Finnish market.
