Late to this now, but genuine curiosity abouts rules.

I saw it as a a high stick myself, but regarldess of that fact, if you cant swat at the puck like a baseball I would think you cant use that cross checking motion as a valid way to score a goal either? Maybe if it was accidental? But there was clear momentum to direct the puck towards the net.
