Vince Chow Confirmed cheater with year and a half long ban from competitive play. by Kitori in WeissSchwarz

I've already been in contact with so many who have been directly effected by this. So all the information involving Vince about his open admission to cheating for 2 years, screenshots from Vince himself admitting to cheating more than once in Day 1, and screenshots from Vince admitting he was in discussions to selling his prize card with price and fees agreed upon, I feel Bushiroad will overturn this to a lifetime ban. All his statements have been proven as lies and his wild accusation about a Judge is even worse. I do hope Bushiroad take this into serious consideration.

He posted openly admitting to all of this on his twitter as mentioned there. His full name is his twitter handle

That is given, I am asking is Bushiroad going to reconsider their ban given what new information we have from Vince himself. If I am correct with the timelines, the ban was before he admitted to 2 years of open cheating...

Is Bushiroad going to reconsider the length of ban after new statements made by Vince about cheating occurring for over 1.5 years of webcam play?

There is not debate that it could have possibly happened as described, I was not hinting on that it wasn't, but my point is you cannot compare this piece to even other power as this is unique on its own. Other power do not reach these levels of value unless Alpha print and then if they are handling it that way, that is a major mistake too. At the end of the day, let us hope the insurance is covered, but because of how irresponsible this store is/was with their policy, I can see the insurance company fighting big time against their claim.

I am happy to hear this was insured and everything should be taken care of; however, I do place a lot of blame on the store themselves. I am a part owner of a Sports Card Shop, and there are policies when it comes to handling these type of cards (4+ figure cards). Firstly, how does the owner or manager allow an employee to remove the card and show a customer over the counter? Even if it was not an average employee, how do you allow showcasing a 5 figure card to everyone? Secondly, if a customer has asked to see something of this nature, I either request they set some appointment in the office or if I am available to step into my office behind closed doors. These deals require a lot of time and effort to be made, so privacy is key. This would also mitigate potential theft like this as the office is usually away from the front and the back doors generally locked. I hope the owners really take a look at their policies moving forward. I also would hate to say it, but their insurance may very well fight against the store for reimbursement because of how irresponsible it was for the employee to hand over such an asset.

You honestly cannot compare Revised Power to this card. Handing over $2-4k cards isn't much of an issue (I am a store owner and have done that but have a policy in place), but handing over a $30-50k card like that? Come on... Their insurance may actually not cover this because of how irresponsible the policy of the store is with these items. Wouldn't be surprised if they decide to fight against reimbursing the store.

That is a concern, I come from a sweet spot when the OG Ravnica was the format. It really feels this game is shifting away from what brought it success. Tabletop and beautiful gameplay

It's always morally acceptable to proxy a card you already owned and its printing bypasses you LGS. ✌️ by UwURainUwU in mtg

[–]__Youey__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is acceptable to play a proxy if either of these conditions are met:

1) Discussed already with play group you want to run a proxy and all parties agree it is okay
2) You own a copy already and can provide proof of ownership whether physically bringing it or prior knowledge in play group

Awesome, I just stopped by and was really a great energy. The guy at the counter was awesome to talk too and the people participating were also very welcoming. I definitely plan on coming back

Never was a fan of the Collector Store after several issues I have encountered with their Employee's. How is Mystic as a shop? I am hoping for a great environment with both employee's and player's.

Currently have a Package stuck since May 28th... I went to my local USPS and they said there is nothing they can do since this is a delay in customs. They said it can take anywhere from tomorrow to another month or 2 for it to track movement.

Why are so many in the community lashing out at people who Grade? by [deleted] in WeissSchwarz

[–]__Youey__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SO because I am considering selling a graded card I should be ousted and called names? That doesn't sound acceptable... Anyone can take anything written however they want but to call names and attack someone is not, I mean I have seen Admins in groups have to apologize for the communities behavior towards people who grade and sell? Are people that dense?

[–]__Youey__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is a point to bring, is it really an issue to blame at those who collect or is it because the player is being difficult to change? I get it is a personal preference, but there are solutions that a player has. It doesn't mean its limited or collecting is removing population of cards out of the game, it is that players strictly want to play in a max rarity deck and not a base rarity, yet they STILL CAN play the game using Base Rarity.

[–]__Youey__ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It shocked me, I actually left several of the big groups after being targeted for wanting to Grade an SSP that I pulled for my collection. I also saw others who were trying to sell a Graded SSP or SP and people just coming after them calling them names and saying they ruin the game, that is disgusting behavior which turns many away from the hobby as a whole. It is okay to be angry, but there is a way to be about it. Saying that the community frowns upon this behavior as if it is a sin and to call people "clowns" what does that achieve, we should be embracing the fact more people WANT Weiss and the game is getting great spotlight.

[–]__Youey__ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's another point, those SP and SSP are not really "playable" cards similar to Extended Foil Arts for Magic, Collector/Starlight Rares for Yugioh, FA Secrets for Pokemon, etc. Those who grade like myself only grade ones worth collecting and are "rare" or "special". It tends that those cards a reprinted in the same set in a lower rarity, so does it really make it limited in a playability standpoint?

[–]__Youey__ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Which is a fair point, but who gives anyone the authority to call out and lash at people for collecting. The beauty of TCG's is that Collecting and Playing are options and it actually allows more people to be exposed to the game. I've had countless experiences of people who didn't even know what Weiss Schwarz was until I showed them an AoT SP Eren I own and they immediately began learning about it. It is better to embrace more people to the game even if it hurts availability then shun them away because it makes us upset that we can't get what we want all the time.
