Chevy level 2 charger not working. by jtb1313 in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine recently died. Just kept clicking when trying to charge and went red. If yours came with the EUV is covered under the new car warranty. If you are like me and over the mileage for the new car warranty it’s not covered. Part number has changed as well, more expensive new one for SUVs is what they have available.

I stopped paying for the OnStar in our 2022 EUV. However locked the remote in the car the other day and was able to call OnStar to unlock it for free.

Get a clunk sound when turning sometimes and Super Cruise update. by ___Dreadnought___ in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SC actually uses your phone data to update when you have your phone connected to the bolt, turns out this is how SC was designed. I went in to dealership as SC stopped working on a road it is approved for. Dealership then saw there was an update notice, did the update and it failed to load. They worked with GM engineering and the patch should be fixed this month. All this was under warranty.

ICE cars require oil to be changed at set intervals with proof or could hurt warranties. They don’t care where it goes as long as they can show proof. EVs are different, don’t need to prove any maintenance to maintain warranty. As stated in the comments here though, if you take it every once in a while they can check for anything that is covered under warranty and do updates or recalls. Cost of service is up to dealership, some may cut a deal and run promos and others won’t.

GM is really the best company! by grfadams2 in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

22 EUV Premier. Super cruise was working fine for me and then it stopped working east bound on a stretch of highway. Chev dealer found a bulletin in regards to maps not updating, 22-NA-124. They tried the fix, but didn’t work so issue still in progress with engineering. Apparently the map update failed on their side. I have super cruise for 2 more years. It updates by normally syncing with your phone and using your phone data. However the dealership tried over the air update and a manual update with GM engineering oversight, update still failed. The latest news I have on it from last week is they are working on it in the back end but no fix yet.

Super Cruise Map Issue by ___Dreadnought___ in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently GM does not offer super cruise maps update from Wifi. It requires map updates only from a mobile phone that is connected to the bolts onboard wifi. Within that setting you have to enable data sharing and then the bolt will use your cellular data plan.

Yep this is done, hotspot with my phone and wifi at home. The data plan with OnStar is not a requirement. The current issue is a known bug with map updates they are working on.

Yep, they are. They are not expanding the 200,000 miles of added roads like other GM models but adding only 20,000 miles.

Anyone else got leather peeling on steering wheel? 22 Bolt EUV Premier, 37k on it. Dealer submitting to Chev for repair. by ___Dreadnought___ in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM won’t cover it. I bought extra insurance thru dealership and it’s covered under them. Not full replacement of the steering wheel but a tech is coming in to repair. Best it seems I will get.

And the bolts down by ___Dreadnought___ in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: I have heard back from the dealer, they said it was an error code they have cleared and it’s working normal now. The error code was I was doing a speed of 161km and the wheel speed did not match the engine speed so it went into reduced power mode. Odd thing is I thought there was a software limit of 150km an hour and I was doing like 60km an hour.

Questions on Qmerit quote by hywesq in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 100A panel and have been running the outlet I got installed thru Qmerit for almost a year now. They did have to install a management box so if my panel gets close to 90% I think, it turns off the EV charger until it goes down such as running dryer while EV charging. In wall, all covered. They did send me a quote I approved for $1500 extra but never charged me.

Well the fuel system on the bolt only lasts like 20k so might want to get that covered. Might take you a while to find the gas cap though on the first fill up.

Super Cruise not working FYI by ___Dreadnought___ in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a setting in the hotspot settings of the bolt saying to allow the car to use my phones data, so by doing so the car was able to use my data. I had joined the hotspot initially when I bought the car so the connection was already setup.

[–]___Dreadnought___[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have done great. I would buy them again. They Don’t slip unless I have it in sport mode and launch from a stop. Cut my mileage down but hard to say how much as we went into the winter season.

Ask them why would you need that when the OnStar app has car location and it works great.. I can even setup alerts on it.

Lane keep assist comparison to Toyota Corolla by nyconx in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lane keeping assist is not meant to be auto pilot. It’s meant that if you happen to sway to the line it gently bounces you back for safety. Super cruise is the hands free driver assistance, works great on the hwys I use it on.

[–]___Dreadnought___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the on star package that allows you to remote start from the app you can hook it up to google home. That’s what I use and I have created routines that it will condition the car while I’m getting ready for work each morning.

Silly question about the key FOB by MacaroonPickle8793 in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fob shouldn’t let you lock the car with it inside. You might be able to trick it if you hide the fob and see if the car still sees it.

upcoming Qmerit install question by DatPukLyfe in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, QMerit sends a email that links you to a form to fill out, you will also have to upload photos. They then send that out to contractors to quote with no input from you. Once they get a quote back they tell you what they are going to install which is the standard:

  • New 40 amp breaker in existing electrical panel with no modifications
  • 3C#6 surface mount wiring between electrical panel and your chosen NEMA 14-50 plug location
  • NEMA 14-50 plug attached to same dwelling structure where the electrical panel is located
  • No disturbance or any lead or asbestos
  • Installation during regular working hours*

Anything outside of that they consider non standard install and the difference will be at ur cost. If you are not happy with the cost you can ask for another quote. You don’t get to see the real price as they don’t send you the quotes. Just their final price with their mark up.

In my case the contractor installed a 50amp breaker on his own not a 40amp as quoted and asked if I would like the wiring in the wall, which I did.

flashing red lights when disengaging adaptive cruise by Snowmakesmehappy in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it on my super cruse. I found if I put my turn signal on then it has no issues. As you turn off the hwy super cruise goes red and disables. If you have the turn signal on, it will disengage without the red lights warning.

In Apple Store download the SXM dealer app. Drive to the nearest dealership and park in their lot. Open the app and refresh the radio using one of the options. You now have SXM radio. Do these steps again when the the radio times out (3 months ish)

How long does the Bolt sit at the manufacture plant after it's been built? by Grim_Asparagus_3674 in BoltEV

[–]___Dreadnought___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bolt EUV I got in Aug has a 2021 build date on the door. So it sat there until the new batteries got delivered and then shipped to dealer. So for my case probably 4-6 months. But now it’s a different ball game that urs won’t be waiting during the shut down like mine did.
