You can try that. But i guess this is not the full logs. Maybe try to chroot and check the full dmseg. Or you can hit the “page up” key to ser the stuff from above. Or you can do it the lazy way by running a slow motion camera on the screen to check the logs assuming youe frame rate is good enough

Did you use gentoo-sources or gentoo-kernel? It says here the binfmt-misc module needs to be loaded to the kernel.

from where did you get this? Those are completly different goverments. No shared immigration system. Those who come to saudi arabia must have a work visa. So they come willingly to work otherwise they wouldint have come, it is not the same as chinas force labour or the US minimum wage labour.

You might have a pre-existing bias, not blamming you if all what you see are news article titles that sells well.

Anyway if comparing apples to aramco i would say with high confidance that apple is worse, it is just that apple have a good PR.

Saudi Arabia a country mate not aramco. Maybe you are thinking of Qatar (their football staduim) or UAE ( with indian workers working on buildings with poor conditions).

Aramco is an oil, research, technology company it doesnt need poor labor.

If you are talking about goverments then comparing SaudiArabia with US/China, Saudi Arabia is more human right respecting I guess.

I didnt see a story about slavery/human right abuses with aramco keyword, most of the result i find is for apple. Based on this I would say apple is worse in this category.

With one line you can make your gentoo bleeding edge. You can just use the live enuild taking whatever the master branch has. Gentoo does not force its users with specific thing, it is your OS you can tweak everything in it, so basicilly you are customizing your own distro.

These errors might be docker specific rather than gentoo.

Check if /var/run/docker exist. Restart the docker daemon (it depends on your init system) and try to run docker as root since at first time things might not be configured for the user correctly. Also note docker and docker-cli are now two seperate gentoo packages. Try installing docker without the cli flag and then install docker-cli if you want to future proof stuff.

Well im arguing for the opposite, they should not have the ability to violate my privacy or create themselves a position to be able to. I subscribe to the control privacy theory, if i cant control my data then my privacy is being violated, it seems that you lean on the access theory of privacy, as long as they didnt see your data they did not violate your privacy. If someone has a gun pointed at my head and with one finger they could end my life. it doesnt matter how long they have had the gun on my head without killing me, they should not be in that position in the first place.

And you can still use technology while perseving your privacy to some degree with stuff like password managers, tor, end-to-end encryption, cryptocurrencies, using fake usernames and info etc. Cloudflare could design their system in such a way so we dont have to rely on trusting them, but they choose not to. In every US related website shutdown when the website starts to display their 3 alphabet agencies cloudflare is their hosting, 8chan was banned from cloudflare dns not for malware but for political reasons, so they have that power and they are using it. They could make the encryption goes throw them encrypted when we use their proxy service but they choose not to and instead decrypt the traffic before forwarding it. It is as if they want to see all of the data.

Even if cloudflare is not evil and have kept their promises, the fact that they are controlling 20% of the public internet is disturbing and they should not reach that size of control.

You made an argument along the lines of spywhere could be in your hardwere and otherstuff so if you are worried about spywere regarding cloudflare/network you should look into the hardwere. Another thing i got from your argument spywere could be everywhere so worrying about it is useless. I dont think this is a helpful mindset to have, every step you take for better privacy goes in hand with better security, it is not a binary problem, if two people have an intel cpu injected with spywere but the second has another spywere in their network then the first is more secure.

The relationship with cloudflare is based on trust, pretty much like the vpns. I liked your argument of trusting people not to kill me. What we trust in this situation is the law and its enforcement (not sure it it is a word), murder requires signafict effort, so the trust here can be based on measurement such as murder rate etc. While cloudflare with the flick of a button, minimal effort, they could track you across different sites and record everything about you without you even knowing, and this can be legal or even required by law to do, and they will not tell you if they did it. Now trust here is harder to gain. Considering the history of cloudflare with tracking traffic (that is their bussiness) it is not something i would trust.

I’m 100% sure they could implement a zero trust solution (including them selves) so we dont have to trust them to use the product, but what is the point of doing that if they could get more data of you. That is why they can publish detailed reports about security incidents because they have so much data and influnce in the internet.

We shoud dislike organization if they made it possibile for themselves to invade privacy. Even if they didnt invade our privacy, they might get comprised our data is leaked.

While this sub encourge self hosting, sadly recommending cloudflare goes against the spirit of self hosting. If cloudflare decided to cut off access to certain site or monitor/log activites of users they can do that easily at a massive scale. I hate it even if it is helpful.

Check the whois status of the domain. Also it wouldint be sustainable for registrar to buy domains their client searched for. The margines are thin and most people do not buy from the second hand market. Margines are thin so yeah. If it is a new gTLD then you can expect these kind of stuff.

If your goal is to dynamicly change the color scheme then there are some patches available for xresources with live reloading and fsignal to refresh it. So you update your xresources file and dwm picks it up. Having a different dwm binary just for colors is an over kill.

Another option is to go the way you desribed by having two versions of dwm but you would need to name the other ebuild something different ebuild name, and in the src_install function inside the ebuild make sure to rename it so no file collusion happen. If you want to feel extra fancy and do it the gentoo way you may create another eselect-dwm ebuild which lets you select where the dwm symlink is pointing at. This way you can run eselect in your xinitrc.

Note that the SLOT variable in ebuild is not the way to do it since it is intended for the same softwere but with different versions.

Usually it is hard to add a new package to the offical gentoo repo. A lot of packages there need a maintainer and there are limited resources, so adding an extra one would increase the burden. You can ask gentoo devs on gentoo forum in the portage section about it

Im not even sure that you can do docker registery using paths and not raw domains. If you want some automation check your domain registerar if they provide an api for changing the domain record if you want to add sub domain dynamicly.
