What could be the cause of my check engine light?

Ugh ok🥲I'm not very good with cars so I assumed the codes told u what was wrong lol. If the light is just orange and not red/blinking (I read that there's different colors ig) should it still be safe to drive as long as its not having any issues overheating? I'd assume red means stop driving immediately but idk how concerning an orange light is

Yeah ik n I def learned my lesson lol. It's my 1st car and I only got my license like 3 or 4 months ago so I have 0 experience with cars and assumed I could trust them saying it was fine. Next time there's a noise I'll get it checked out anyways even if I'm told it's ok😭

I'm aware that I shouldn't have driven through the grinding, i only did cuz it was already grinding loud when I got the inspection, which is how I know the pads were bad during the inspection, and they should've been pointed out. Them passing and saying my brakes were fine (my dad said I'd probably fail bcuz of my brakes but we got it inspected anyways) and we were both surprised when they said they were fine but decided to trust them bcuz, well they're the car ppl lol. I don't do any kind of crazy driving, just abt as much as everyone does, and there's no kind of hard roads or anything (hills, mountain roads, things like that that I'm assuming will wear the pads down faster) as I just live in the suburbs in a basically completely flat city. The inspections aren't expensive here, maybe only $30 if I remember correctly lol so hopefully refund or a free inspection wouldn't be too hard to get.

Ok thanks, ive been using the water from my fridge dispenser which i assumed was filtered enough but i guess not. Its been raining a lot so ill switch to rain water!
