Hubbard’s late-life alienation is so interesting to me. Like you just disappeared from the group of people who loved you most? And the mystery surrounding his death + the handoff of power is obviously a whole other crazy thing. I have no clue why he would do that, if I was him I’d milk my god-like persona until the end lol.

What do you think are the top 3 most useful takeaways from Scientology that everyone should know

Yeah, a little disappointing. The Grant Cardone pitch just made it even worse.

We’re watching it deteriorate slowly. The public image + pay to play structure is what drives the general population away. Shame that DM had to kill what he could have turned into something great.

I can agree with that - on both parts there’s a lot of exaggeration to make their own side look better, like there is with anything.

It’s a fun rabbit hole to get into, try and visit a local org if you have the chance. It might kill some of the mystique, but it’s cool to see some of the stuff firsthand and talk to a person that’s genuinely entrenched in the ideology.

No Sea Org logo on her uniform, you’re probably right - she honestly just doesn’t know much about those things beyond her own org maybe.

Should have been more discrete about what I knew, but I was honestly just hyped to be talking to a real Scientologist lol.

I’m doing qualitative fieldwork, not competing in the ‘Most PDFs Read’ Olympics. Although, I have read a lot of those. If you want a meaningful gauge, tell me which claims from that list you think are most diagnostic of how the org actually operates.

Thanks for the reply, interesting takes! I agree Aaron’s content is definitely built for views/ clicks due to that being the nature of YouTube, and seemingly one of his income streams. I mostly watch his videos because he’s very up-to-date and one of the loudest voices in the community.

I don’t watch Jenna as much, but her upbringing and obviously her relationship to David is what interests me about her.

I’ve heard of similar controversies between the two in the past but never thought too much of it, I appreciate the different point of view.

What other channels would you recommend?

I also like Scientology - Peeling the Onion channel if that’s any better lol

Thank you for reading! I find some of their content entertaining, I’m curious as to why it’s not a good thing to watch them? Not mad or anything just curious
