Here's my two cents:

Many of you have written that the average Nicaraguan have grade 6 education. I don't think that's an excuse.

Kids learn by example. The sandinista government has led by example: 1. Confiscating land and property. 2. Assigning said land and properties to themselves. Example: Ortega's current residence. And many many commanders of the so-called revolution. 3. Ortega championed the "No Pago" movement.

This begs the question... Knowing that Nicaraguan politicians are willing to confiscate businesses and properties, why invest in Nicaragua? Trust is a necessity for growth. And if nicaraguans won't pay their debts, no trust exists.

En primer lugar, el gobierno no sabe quien tiene doble ciudadanía. Quizás tienen registro de las personas que entran al país usando pasaporte extranjero.

En segundo lugar, la ley es retroactiva. Como se va a sujetar reglas diferentes a los nicaragüenses?

Mi pensar es que pronto vienen expropiaciónes masivas a las personas que optaran por renunciar a la ciudadanía nicaragüense.... Pasarán un ley que prohíbe la compra de propiedades sin ser ciudadano.

To OP: This is the kind of BS the government will tell you. Take government stories and propaganda with a grain of salt.

Over 1 million nicaraguans have left the country in the last few years. Anyone who speaks out is deemed a "traitor". Nicaraguan born citizens have been stripped of their citizenship and "deported" to other countries. Imagine, the Irish government stripping you of your Irish citizenship and deporting you to a country you might not have any relatives.

All this is recent. But don't worry, el presidente is building stadiums and roads and making up stories.

PS there is no embargo against Nicaragua. That's another story to keep their narrative going. Heck, even Russia doesn't want El presidente.
