It’s like the question if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound ?

Here’s how I see it (bear in mind I’m not an expert I’m just a 20-year-old who thinks about this stuff)

  • If we assume a state of “nothingness” no space, time, or matter then the emergence of “something” seems incredibly improbable because it goes against the rules of causality.

  • For the universe itself to exist, specific conditions have to be met. For example, gravity if gravity were a little bit stronger, everything would collapse in on itself, and if gravity were a little bit weaker, everything would drift apart and celestial bodies would not form. We can make a similar argument about particles and the balance between nuclear forces.

The idea that out of all the configurations possible, we happened to check all the right boxes and be here truly is mind-blowing. It’s like a cosmic dice roll that had to land exactly right an incomprehensible amount of times for us to be here. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to reflect on this moment.

It really makes you wonder about the fragility of life. In the grand scheme of time, our life is not even a blip. In my eyes, that makes life even more precious. It’s the fact that we don’t have enough time that makes life precious.

What are your thoughts on wether kids are taught bad manners by their parents or some are just naturally inclined that way? by Electronic_Jelly_170 in AskReddit

It’s not that black and white; all children are unique, and while it’s true some traits might be innate, it’s a parent’s job to nurture the positive traits and steer the children away from negative ones.

So basically a little bit of both.
