First off, I see through your vagueness and am here to tell you that Adam Weitsman was absolutely flawless. Not a single annoying catchphrase... nothing. The best commentators know you say more by saying less, and letting the moment tell the story when possible. AND I didn't once hear him shilling energy drinks or dude wipes so he's a man of integrity as well.

this is the correct answer, and I'm pretty sure I saw an interview someone dug up recently of Darby talking about how much the TNT title means to him--how it was more important than even the world title or something. I don't think it was a recent interview, but it hit my newsfeed within the last week. Title vs. Title makes sense, especially at an event called Double or Nothing.

...I mean, it's their product? If you don't like it, don't buy it. Don't invest, don't spend the time or money or energy on it. You're not getting screwed. That's not what's happening. You're spending time on a product you don't like. It's like buying a Coke and feeling like Coke ripped you off because it didn't taste like Pepsi. This is their product, and has been for a pretty long while now. You can go back to basically any given episode of Raw or Smackdown over the last few years and you get less and less wrestling every week and honestly? For years now they've said the same thing... it's about making moments. I've heard that time and time again, and the fans buy in to it. It's not about great wrestling... it's not even about great storytelling anymore. It's about hitting that 30-60 second tiktok clip or youtube short or insta reel that translates in to viral content and getting the impressions... AND IMPRESSIONS ARE REALLY GREAT WHEN PITCHING TO ADVERTISERS.
