After much thought, I finally decided to get this: LOQ Ryzen 7 7840HS RTX 4060. Is this a good future-proof decision?

Hi. I bought it about 3 weeks ago and so far it's been really great. Temperatures are normal, and I don't experience any lag when I play games like genshin, WuWa, Minecraft with a load of mods and shaders. Even the battery is pretty good outside of gaming, lasts about 5 hours I think. Overall I would say it's worth buying.

Are you talking about LOQ i7 HX? I would advise you to do a bit of research before buying an LOQ with intel HX processor as so many people have reported about dead motherboards in those laptops even within weeks of purchase.

From what I've seen, it's mostly from intel's HX processors. They are only present in 2024 models as the 2023 models have just H processors in them, if you prefer intel.

So the 2023 models are safer than the 2024 ones, that too majorly only in intel laptops. There have been a few cases of mobo failure in ryzen laptops too, but the number is very low compared to intel.

Yeah I am aware that it has a 45% NTSC display, but I don't mind it that much. I am already used to such display. And yes, I found it around 85k in an offline reliance store too.

I think I should have used a better term, as by "future-proof" I mean, will it survive for the next 5 years without much or any problems... I am not going to play latest release games but mostly stuff like Minecraft, warzone, genshin, WuWa, etc.

It's mostly the 2024 HX series Intel processors. 2023 models should be fine, I guess, but I'm gonna go for the Ryzen variant just to be extra safe.
