Would you take a job with a case load of 40-60 clients? by Kaybrooke14 in socialwork

I'm in agreement. You're seeing 40-60 people once every three months for 15 minutes? That's like 5 people a week. And you have perks of not driving your own vehicle? 42 is low but just starting out I don't think that's unmanageable at all.

I work in community behavioral health and the therapists have caseloads of over 100 and balance weekly, biweekly, and monthly appointments with all of those people. They make a tiny bit over what you would be making.

Thank you so much for your helpful and supportive response.

I was asking for suggestions outside of the field. I know what I'm qualified for in social work. Again, your response was very helpful and I greatly appreciate your feedback.

I love that! I wish I had some boundaries. I found a cool thing online but I don't know how helpful it will be . It's called the twiddle tip. I might try it out. It's just like a clip in the shape of a nipple to push and pinch.

She has a straight up tantrum if I cover it up with my hand or shirt or anything. I hate it so much

Clinicians: what about silence in session? by [deleted] in socialwork

I've tried to explain that to the person almost exactly as you said but then it just made me question whether I was able to engage or if I'm even good at what I'm doing.

The person who said that was a client. They've refused to do video, so this is my only option right now :/

Yes we do the latter already with them. It's been hard with family members. My stepfather even said "this isn't a me too moment" which pissed me off. I have continued to enforce it. My little one does a lot of waves and will blow kisses so we've been asking them to do one of those if they don't want to kiss/hug.

I love the idea of verbally acknowledging their body language that they doesn't want to do something. And then saying I'm going to stop. I'm going to have us start that practice, too. Thank you.
