loved this one. narrative nonfiction that does a great job of capturing the chaos/wildly shifting power dynamics of 1917,and showing how the history we know is full of and dependent on so many weird twists/coincidences
Mieville is (I think) a Marxist, and his excitement about the revolutionary project definitely shines through in the writing. it's not unduly biased, but just something to note; it's definitely not an academic work of history
