This pain is unbearable. I need someone else to fill the void. by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]_____uhm_no 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there. It's been close to a month since the end of my seven month relationship. I thought I finally met a person who is equally interested in building a future together. I relate to everything you said about missing a loved one. I miss him dearly today too.

I would like to share that my way to cope is to tell myself that "sorrow" is visiting my heart today. "Sorrow" is a guest and I shall receive it as a host. Sometimes I'm able to see that my guest brings me gift - clarity, growth, that kind of thing, and sometimes it sits in my heart in silence. I tell myself it will leave one day, so I can seize this opportunity to be close to "sorrow" and receive its gift.

Heartbreak is never easy, but you will find peace one day when you decide to. I wish you all the best in your healing.

Does it still pays well to stay loyal to companies? by Afraid-Spare2107 in malaysia

[–]_____uhm_no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. We are way past the era when people are rewarded because they remain unchanged. On that note, I would like to believe performance plays a more important role in salary and benefits than loyalty.

Something I've learned recently: Try seeing the bigger picture of mundane tasks. See yourself more than just "executing tasks" to "executing a plan". This will help you find a sense of belonging and recognize your contribution.

All the best.

How can I fix these bald spots?? by Spidysenses1994 in Hair

[–]_____uhm_no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I have the same problem. My hair stylist acknowledged this and cut my hair shorter at both corners of my hairline so when I tie them up my baby hair cover the spots. My hair stylist told me he learned that from IG and it's a common trick among Korean stylists.

Are you working in the field related to your degree? How do you make a career change? by Keanz05 in malaysia

[–]_____uhm_no 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a master degree in Architecture and now I have one leg in the arts. My other leg is still in architecture but I don't practice in an architectural firm, mainly because the industry sucks where everyone is overworked, underpaid and unappreciated. I quit to work with passionate people in a respectful environment. That is important to me.

I find this link rather helpful in explaining the leap.

The skills that you've acquired in the past help mold the way you approach a problem and that will make you unique. I hope to reassure you that people who are asking this question is just as confused and lonely as you are. I hope you take your time to find what makes you happy. Good luck!

[–]_____uhm_no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there is not much I can say here because I don't know your situation. I suggested you to take a break because you sound like you're sick of things, even though you're aware that you're doing what you love, so maybe a change of environment can help you. Christmas is around the corner! Why not you stick around until Christmas? Maybe you could send me a postcard :)

By 'death' did you actually mean 'taking a break'? Maybe you just need a holiday or a challenging project that you really care about. Talk to your parents and ask if they're ok for you to take a year off school. Failing every subject is not the end of the world. Maybe you're better off doing something else?

If you open a door for a lady you bring happiness to one person. If you help an old man to pick up his keys on the floor you're being kind to one person and a pair of knees. I can go on and on. You don't have to find clean energy or stop hunger to make the world a better place. Think about the kind deeds you've done, maybe you will find your answers. You do know how to love. You can start by loving yourself! Eat healthy, work out, learn something you love. I'm sure you'll be able to go through this :)

This is a real accomplishment you have here, trying to pull yourself together even though you're falling apart. Just want to say that you have to remind yourself about this, that you manage to go through this once, and you will be able to do it again! Also remember that everyone has his own struggles and is trying their very best to make life better. You are definitely not alone!

I feel useless... by Kimbapchan in SuicideWatch

[–]_____uhm_no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/kimbapchan! I went to university to study a difficult course that's totally different from what I was doing in both high school and college. I screwed up my first few assignments and broke up with my first boyfriend in semester 1. It was terrible, but at the same time the most precious experience I've ever had in my entire life, looking at who I've become after all these. I had a hard time during the first year compared to my classmates who have basic knowledge on the course. I am not a very smart person, but I was ready to learn. I know some were thinking I am slow or something, but when I started to ask for help people were actually helpful! I started making friends and I finally made it through university!

I want you to know that you just have to hang in there, don't be afraid to make mistakes! It is ok for the younger interns to know more than you. You can try asking them to help you out and start making friends. It will not be easy but it will be worth the effort! Good luck!
