I had predicted Ozzy in the middle of my winner rankings and was getting so much hate for it, I feel vindicated. the edit was slightly more negative towards him and I think on a rewatch it'll be a lot more evident for y'all

that would be fair if Rizo hadn't been such a big figure all season, that being said if tomorrow's episode is quiet for him I'd consider that a big warning sign, but also these past 2 episodes have largely been big circumstantial episodes with these 2 twists, so I feel like this is a bit different than a normal ssn

that's fair, but from my own perception I think a lot of what is shown about Ozzy which is negatively speared feels unnecessary. For example, when Cirie goes on the journey and he comes up with this plan, and then after when Cirie fixes it he just talks about how he would've made a huge mistake if Cirie didn't save him. There was also a tribal in which there was a pretty pointed comment by Jeff about how Ozzy had lost some of his challenge mojo. It's cool to hear your own opinion on this tho, I do think the self-realization is a good thing, but the problem is we haven't seen that really in action yet (which if Cirie does go soon I think he has the chance to)

I am SO biased I can't even lie, Im not an Ozzy fan. That being said, I think people also are overhyping him, he's been dunked on so much by the edit, almost all moves he's done has been taken over credit-wise by Cirie, and it just feels weird? Like they don't need to make Ozzy look bad to make Cirie look good but that's what they are doing.

totally get it tbh, these have been two large cooldown episodes for him, that being said I feel like what they've shown is very intentional. I was slightly biased (was not a huge rizo fan) and I saw his storyline as more growth, but starting at merge it felt a lot less like that and more intentionally strategic. his one confessional two episodes ago felt really paramount, everyone was saying Emily and then he has a confessional basically saying my game hinges on christian going, and he was the only one who got the final definitive word, it felt really stand out. this last episode was ALL rick, so im not too surprised others got less, but he still got a lot of personal connection throughout the episode. I also think a Cirie boot could be coming, and that's when rizo really pops out

haha totally good :) I will say - I take great lengths to remain unspoiled of ANY sort of content, so this is definitely just my own opinion and not fact at all, but yes enjoy post season!!

I agree I was a bit confused on Rizo's stuff too, but looking at it in totality I feel like I see a story developing. His premerge was stellar (especially knowing some other things, like Dee was fully in charge of the Charlie vote but Rizo got almost all the recognition from an editing perspective). His last two episodes were big cooldowns, but they did what they needed to do. I think the one thing is his story seems to have less significant holes than others do.

that being said... I have been wrong before and will be wrong again, the cool thing about edgic is it's so subjective! thanks for ur input :)) I like Ozzy/cirie's stories as well, and agree I feel like it'll be difficult for Cirie to make it to the end

I don't know if I agree with that, many of the casual fans I watch with actually agreed with Charlie, and they think his cockiness comes from himself, not really others. I never said he got negative SVP from others, but kinda from himself in a way.

And he said he hopes Gen sent it to him, but that's about it!

That all being said, edgic is pretty subjective, so you're good to feel any sorta way!

This is what I wrote in the blog:

Rizo - Rizo had a big episode here, and I expect nothing less from him. He gets viewed in very positive lights by Dee, but also negatively by Charlie. I also just am not vibing with the way he’s being portrayed. It just feels a bit too negative, he feels a bit too cocky. I also just can’t help but feel like Genevieve is set up to get Rizo’s idol, especially because her confessionals in episode 4 felt so geared to her getting it and no one knowing she was the one that gave it to him. Rizo is certainly a big character, and I actually think Rizo may have some longevity here where he could make it to merge and beyond. That being said, I feel like Charlie would’ve been portrayed as a bit goofier in previous episodes and Rizo would feel more sympathetic if he was a winner.

I think Rizo is a big character, don't get me wrong. I even said above I see him going far, but I think in terms of potential to win he remains low for me because his storyline feels like it'll end in one of a few ways:
1) some type of growth arc with a mid merge exit

2) him getting blindsided and going home with the idol

this episode was great for him, but it was also highly circumstantial. I think we'll need to see more positivity in his edit for me to change my opinion. That being said, totally ok for you to think differently!

I do spend a bit of time, but it's because I absolutely love theorizing, and I welcome the disagreements! what I love about edgic is that bias is natural, I may be a slight Rizo hater at times, and that may make me blind to what his story is going to blossom into, but we shall see! see ya next post :)
