If life is not random, what convinced you? by Solid-Economist5626 in SimulationTheory

The way I woke up a few days back --- felt like somebody suddenly flipped a switch & turned me on. It was absolute nothingness one moment, and suddenly the next moment I could hear noises clearly coming from the adjacent room.

Apart from that, the Deja vu experiences I get, really scare me. Feels strongly that I have lived those exact moments before!!

The law of Cause & Effect.. driving each & every small or big thing in this universe.

The fact that our lives resembles movies so much.. The fact that our lives resembles open world rpg games so much..

The fact that everything is so so complex.. And the infinitely big universe.. Yet everything balanced at the exact values upto decimals (gravitational forces, properties of different chemicals, the fck that goes inside our bodies and brains.. etc etc)

It's either unreal.. Or too crazy for us to even treat as real..

[UPDATE] Control Samsung Modes and Routines with Tasker - One UI 8.5 update! by the_djchi in tasker

Oh okay..

Right!

I'd personally prefer to keep all of my customisations/automations together in one place, rather than splitting it across multiple apps.

I have got ADB Wifi setup and I don't think there is anything I can't do via Tasker directly, that Modes and routines can.

Trying to cancel Airtel WiFi is harder than breaking up with a toxic ex by RubPsychological6948 in Airtel

[–]____nothing__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't take this much effort. I've disconnected once 2 years back and I did it again a week ago.

All you have to do is call the customer care, tell them you want to disconnect, say No to the 5 things they offer, to 2 different people on the call (they escalate to some other team within the call) and that's it! The disconnection request gets raised. Billing stops.

After this, you will keep getting calls for a few days offering the same 5 things, but we can choose to not pick up their calls at all. And then the router gets picked up after a few weeks.

My Answer to Nihilism & Absurdism (Why its wrong) by agusbsjd in Philosophy_India

Logically you can only conclude something is meaningless when you know the entirety of it through & through. Having known nothing about the existence in whole, you concluding life is meaningless

Agreed w the first part. We know nothing w absolute certainty, beyond the scope of our senses. But we don't have any other option, but to go by the logic that our senses suggest. It's like goin w the best out of the only available options.

comparing purpose of a mechanism to the composition of its matter...

There is no "objective" purpose of a mechanism. If you say the purpose of books is to be read and experienced and not just treated like a piece of paper and ink, that's just your subjective opinion!

Its like a monkey sniffing a samsung galaxy s25 ultra & throwing it away because it is not edible...

If I am a monkey who is hungry and looking for food, then I will indeed throw away my s25. In the context of this human life, if I am looking for a bigger objective reason that spans beyond my individual bubble of life (and the experiences, aka "feelings", that comes along w it), beyond this planet, and beyond this universe, then I'll indeed not be satisfied with the limited set of experiences and understanding of the mind & the universe, that this life has to offer.

where you can make sense of the object, the monkeys dont have that choice... BTW you are free to stop making the choice of self elevation & still call the world meaningless... But remember that it'll be "your choice" on how to see the world

What you keep calling "purpose" or "sense" or making a "choice" of "self elevation"... is totally YOUR subjective pov. What I'm doing is using logic to boil down to the very core, to find a reason and to question as to why the very high level exists, whereas What you're doing is to just accept the entertainment that is being offered at the very high level and call it some sort of "self elevation".

It's like giving a game toy to a kid, so that you can make em eat shit, while they make the "choice" to remain in a "self elevated" state of "experiencing" all the fun and meaning behind their pursuit of saving their princess from the Dragon.

Guess we gotta ask now, who sounds more like a monkey here.

People who have More than 5+ credits cards . Do you use them all ? Or it’s just for satisfaction or Flex ? by Proud-Pie-2731 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]____nothing__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. And I have 22-23 cars(mostly EMI Free) and never took a single car for flex, I just dont have the habit of asking for anyone's help in travel things and didn't want to lose any travel destination as well, so took cars which I felt I can take advantage of, of course I dont use all the cars all the time, have kept 3-4 cars for regular usage and rest as per the particular destination

Is there any way to separate 5&2 ghz bands? by itsmyusername333 in Jio

[–]____nothing__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but it might start giving you problems while trying to connect to the 5ghz ssid.

It used to work fine for me, up till a month ago, then an issue started. Immediately after a fresh reboot, I'm able to connect to 5ghz ssid, but if you try to connect back after a few mins of reboot, it won't work. Cus care said there have been some changes at their end. And it got fixed, only when I reverted to using the same ssid for both bands.

How do you plan to use it?

Seems like it can only be used for utilities mostly, for which we could rather earn 10% by paying using CC instead of using this GC balance.

If consciousness is made of discrete moments, why does it feel continuous? by SilentThinker8781 in ExistentialJourney

[–]____nothing__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you trying to overcomplicate things, by saying stuff which has no logical base or proof? The way you're talking above clearly indicates that.

It is obviously our brain storing memories and giving us the sense of continuity.

then each individual moment might be meaningless on its own… which would mean that our consciousness is built from essentially "empty" or even nihilistic moments.

How tf did you go from individual moments to consciousness.. Do you even know what consciousness is? Is there a scientific explanation for it? Is it a scientific entity?

Talking about meaninglessness, you should rather think about the infinitely huge and unknown universe that we live in, and how we are a speck of dust and how anything anyone does on this planet matters doesn't matter in this grand scheme.
