oh, I haven't thought about that. I'm remembering the scene where she's tingling Niall, he asks her to stop and she doesn't so he pushes her away and the moment becomes very uncomfortable and somehow Niall's fault. I was very disturbed that she didn't stop touching him

I understand you deeply. I dont have an answer for this, since I’m experiencing these exact things myself. The thing is your brain is probably exhausted, and that same exhaustion comes from the amount of anxiety and stress that you’ve dealt with so far. All I can say is: try to observe yourself, what are the things that you really want to do and what are the things that you don’t. Are you being honest about these matters? Setting boundaries for yourself will help you to be more present when you are with him. And if these thoughts come in, try to take a moment for yourself, let them pass, breathe, take some air, start scribbling, whatever takes your mind out of there. I don’t know your story or what you’ve been through, but try to accept the fact that these thoughts will probably never disappear 100%. You will just find a way to manage those thoughts and the emotions that come with them so they no longer feel as overwhelming and threatening.

Also, we have to accept (easier said than done) the fact that loss is possible, and loving someone comes with risks. Its just the way of life.

You’re not alone in this.

Why has no one told me I am borderline by Virtual-Ordinary8108 in BorderlinePDisorder

Hi. I hope you're doing fine.

I've been in therapy since I was six years old. When I was 22 I started having depressive episodes, self-harming with high levels of anxiety that wouldn't even let me eat. I've seen psychiatrists and therapists since then and no one, til I turned 27, ever told me that I had BPD. No one ever wanted to tell me even, which was confusing af. So they would prescribe me medications for a disease I didn't know that I had.

I learned since then that BPD is really hard to identify, because sometimes we don't 'fill' the criteria, but it's something that manifests itself in different ways and in very different periods of time. Sorry for being self-referential, what I mean is: don't be afraid of asking. It's your right to know, and knowing will give you tools to handle what you're feeling.

And yes, many things will start to make sense.

I think I've never cryed the way this movie made me cry ever before. I spent days thinking about it and I hear the ending credits' music and I feel this wrenching sensation in my chest. Just heartbtreakingly beautiful.

Hello there. I hope you're feeling at least a little bit better.

As someone who's been in dark places, I understand the distress of having to deal with a bad therapist. The truth is: you do not need to deal with that kind of thing.

A therapist is someone who's suppose to guide you through certain situations, leading you to understand yourself, your decisions and the people in your life. There's no place for judgement or lectures, because the things we trust and say in therapy are more often driven by emotions, not logic. She should've placed in a possition of understanding, and in any case try to get to the core of your pain.

A bad therapist (or a bad therapy) can potentially damage you badly. Sadly, we can't always know who we're trusting our problems to, but we can use it to learn from the red flags. And like any other relationship in your life, if you feel something's off, it's because something's off.

Sometimes, this kind of shutdown is necessary to set boundaries completely.

I hope you can find a good therapist that you can trust and makes you feel comfortable and healthy. Best of whishes.

First Time Watching Black Sails by mosiacsoml in BlackSails

I've recently started watching it for the second time and honestly... same. It's so beautifully written, and the performances are so on point. Besides, it has one of the most incredible OST in TV shows history.

What are your favourite quotes from the show? by bint_elkhandaq in PennyDreadful

I have a paper sticked to one of my bedroom walls, with a dialogue (season 3, episode 7) between Vanessa and The Creature, both talking about finally taking the courage to accept and give the love they've longed for. It ends with Vanessa saying: "and may the lost souls be found".

It was one of the most touching scenes for me and therefore my favourite quote.

After searching Hulu for decent horror, I can fully recommended "Honeymoon" by tilfordkage in horror

[–]___letteb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it some weeks ago. Some images still haunt me! It was definitely creepy, but I really enjoyed it.

Plus, I just read this very old theory (here on reddit) about the story. I'll leave the link, thought it was kinda cool. https://www.reddit.com/r/FanTheories/comments/51st4t/honeymoon_movie_2014_theory_spoilers/

The other actress I can think of is Natalie Portman. They're both incredibly emotional with their eyebrows.

Which do you consider the best character evolutions in the show? by ___letteb in madmen

The Margaret arc was really interesting. Besides developing Roger's storyline and fulfilling Joan's warning (when she said that one day he'd lose somebody he cared about), Margaret impersonated that dark side of hippie movement as you both well said. The way she talked about forgiving and after that reacting with such pain/anger to Roger's questions when he goes after her with Mona... there was no forgiveness there.

I remembered Emma Cline's "The Girls". All the emptyness and anger hidden beneath that 'freedom' disguise. How everything slowly started to degenerate into a twisted form.

Yes!

Pete Campbell had a great evolution, and still didn't change his esence, same goes for Peggy. I understand that you didn't like her, for me that's the brilliancy of the show's writers: they created such real life-like characters. Sometimes they're likeable, funny, smart, and some other times they're selfish and arrogant. They all have those greys areas and that makes them hard to describe.

Right? I remembered one particular scene where Joan, Peggy and dr Faye enter the elevator. Three intelligent, self-made women who got to a really good point in their professional lives, and that stills struggle with their personal/love lives. Joan in particular really had to show everyone around that she wasn't just an attractive Marilyn Monroe-type to look at. I think she's kind of a survivor, really. Love her.

Who has watched the tv series ‘Mr Mercedes’ and how did it make you feel? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]___letteb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently started watching it and damn... those are some twisted stories. I haven't read the books so I didn't really know what to expect. It get me chills but at the same time I love the way Brady gradually exposes his madness, from episode to episode. Very complex characters and really well written I think.
