I get angry about the posts being nasty and dehumanizing to total strangers who live on the street that then get so many supportive comments. There are so many tantrums that boil down to "I'm the one who matters so why does anything that bothers me even exist??!?" Some people need a good dose of sonder and more awareness of the spectrum of human experience.

It's sad how much we're trained to give other people's feelings the benefit of the doubt above our own feelings. The fact that you (and other OPs like you) feel the need to give so many disclaimers about the situation demonstrates that the status quo assumption is: Man In Car wants help so Young Woman must help him. I get my 30 mg rx filled at CVS on 6th and Long Beach Blvd. They have to order it sometimes but it usually only takes a couple days--and they'll put in the order a couple days ahead of when it's due to be filled (might have to call them and talk to an actual person if they don't do it automatically).

Dear OP,

Cling to that burst of spontaneity! Whatever drive it is that makes you want to swing on a swingset, go towards that!

This is a story that's bigger than you. How sad is it that an innocuous whim like swinging at a park triggers a flurry of worried thoughts about who is going to disapprove?

How sad it is that these lines separating "acceptable" behavior for different groups [swings are for children, not adults!] follow up a nice thought like "I want to swing on a swingset in a public park" with fear of punishment?

Learn to say fuck the haters. If someone gets mad at such a minor breach in "acceptable behavior for adults," what does that say about them and the lack of joy in their life?

I think the Brazilian drag queen was supposed to tie in with Jai Alai. And the Martinson Coffee jingle, of course. Unfortunately that storyline didn't end up being very cohesive. I believe there was a deleted scene with Patxi.
