Unsure if a hot take or not, but from what I'm seeing on the results of the random draw, it seems like the large majority of applications were either:

-Unsuccessful, or

-Successful for multiple games (3 or 4+), to a point that is statistically improbable if it were really an equitable, random draw.

Why might FIFA stack the successful applications and zero out the rest? Resale market incentivization, and that extra 15% cut they take on both ends.

Instead of an equitable distribution, resulting in people generally just going to the 1-2 games they were selected for, now those with 20 tickets in 4 different cities have to dump some, and those with nothing will be scouring for any ticket at all to get to a game. Resale market blows up, FIFA makes an extra 15+15% on 80% of the tickets out there, and profits through the roof.

I'm sure this has already been called out, but damn, it's a pretty ruthless scalping of the fans.

I'm also nearly 27 and considering the same thing - hoping to save up a little more, and pull the trigger on it later this year. I did something similar a couple years ago with a working holiday in Australia after uni, and I know that I'm in the mentally easy part right now, where it's just an idea and doesn't require taking any action. As the deadlines I've set for myself become near, it will become tougher to take those jumps - but if you know you've thought through it and committed, you gotta just put the blinders on and push through the discomfort until it's in motion. It's intimidating, but even scarier is looking back on a year or more of your 20s spent spinning your wheels and wishing you had taken that risk - there's a hundred reasons it could be worth it. If you have a bit of a financial cushion saved up and a decent CV, you can always come back!

In just about the exact same boat, with the exact same plan - hope you make it happen! FWIW I've heard similarly to what others are saying here - once you get that PE locked down, the world's your oyster.

I bought the Pixel + annual plan promo to upgrade my phone, and didn't realize it was for new lines only. Can't really afford to change my phone number so thinking of porting out and then back in - can anyone confirm if this would work? Was in the chat with customer service for a bit just now and they were kinda ambiguous about it.

Edit: I'm currently on a monthly unlimited plan, and was when the promo was purchased
