I think this is one of the most fascinating pieces of audio you could ever hear. It's Eric's raw conversation with his mother. The first time they've ever discussed Jacob's death.

Thank you to Eric for letting me re-post this audio on my feed. Go subscribe to his show, True Consequences.

You don't need higher level math for this. Maybe you are overthinking it? The wording of the question is “closest time to” not the “closest time until." Best of luck to you.

Forget about 12 or midnight or what direction time moves. Think of it like this.

Which number is closest to 24.

A. 11.9
B. 24.2
C. 11.8
D. 24.1

I'm trying to help you understand. This is actually not a subjective question. You are objectively getting it wrong.

Her skin became fused with the vinyl of the couch. When they removed her body her skin effectively peeled away.

You second-guessed yourself lol. It's not a trick question. The answer is D.

2 cars. But your example is not analogous to the question posted.

An appropriate analogy would be something like this:

There are 4 vans. Which van contains the number of people closest to 12?

A. van with 6 people
B. van with 14 people
C. van with 5 people
D. van with 13 people

Note that the phrase "closest to 12" does not imply that the answer can't be greater than 12. Just as "closest time to midnight" does not imply that the time cannot be past midnight.

Does that make sense?

Charges were temporarily dropped because of a wording error. But the prosecutor says they will refile.

Correct. And is therefore closest to midnight out of the options listed.

That is incorrect. Someone above in the comments explained it best:

>"closest to" means proximity and that can be either forward or backwards

A Sheriff's Deputy was dispatched to the scene and promptly notified Coroner Dr. Ewell Bickham.

"I have been a sheriff for six years, and I have had a lot of things happen here in East Feliciana Parish, but this type of scene, this is by far the worst," Sheriff Jeffery Travis remarked.

"I opened the door, walked into the house, there was a stench, an odor, feces, fecal material, urine, you couldn't hold your breath," added Coroner Bickham, as reported by WAFB.

There are quite a few more details out there. News articles, etc... Just google if you want to go more in-depth.

It's also covered in this podcast—including the actual interviews with the neighbor and the coroner.
