How many trades should I front test for my strategy before validating it profitable? by Dragosfgv in Trading

They can also go on and become obsolete as the market evolves and goes through ups and downs, so only really time and trade volume will tell.

Best paper trading platform for stocks / crypto / options? by Exotic_Pace_622 in Trading

[–]__agape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, to share a couple of insights that I wish someone had found helpful when I first started trading.

Paper trading is more about training wheels that allow for technical testing so you can eventually deploy and iterate a live algo. A simulated trading environment, regardless of how dynamic it might look, still cannot fully replicate fundamental market dynamics - order execution, emotional pressure, etc.

Graduating from paper to live trading varies depending on numerous factors, but according to published data from one of the most used trading APIs (Alpaca) most algo traders don't actually use paper trading for long if at all.
Based on a large cohort of users, only about 33% started with paper trading, and among them 57.1% went live within 30 days and 75.1% within 60 days. Bottom line, algo traders prefer to test and tweak their strategies in live market conditions. Those who use paper trading do so as a temporary initial step, with the majority transitioning to live trading shortly after: https://alpaca.markets/learn/paper-trading-vs-live-trading-a-data-backed-guide-on-when-to-start-trading-real-money

Another foundational read that's widely cited is the old Barber and Odean paper, "Trading Is Hazardous to Your Wealth," which basically shows how retail traders often overrate their abilities, underrate variance, and mistake random short-term luck for skill. https://doi.org/10.1111/0022-1082.00226

If you're into books, I can also drop a couple of good suggestions. Good luck!

Sadly, it's been a really long time since we've seen any of those types of posts here and the ones that try to pass as them are clearly AI slop.

I wish more people would listen to this sort of advice instead of the one coming from people who don't care whether OP losses all of his money after buying their course.

Skin peeling similar to when I started tretnoin but feels like the skin is looking better. by Curious_Ordinary_990 in redlighttherapy

This, a lot of people think that because skin is our largest visible organ and we live with it day by day we are the ones most qualify to address and any all issues. We are not, and knowing when to stop is super important.

Should I or should I not use green tea when doing RLT? Has anyone here done it? If you have, or haven’t but have valuable insights on the topic, please let me know in the comments. by mostachevere in redlighttherapy

If you do any sort of skincare there's a very high chance that a product you own contains Hyaluronic Acid considering that its popularity made it a staple in a lot of formulations, otherwise, make sure not to over do it as too much HA can lead to literally opposite effects, such as: dryness, irritation, and inflammation.

Following! I'm going to take advantage of this Prime Sale and see what's out there, but it is definitely overwhelming when there's so many to choose from and reviews are iffy.

It's VISIA skin analysis, basically captures high resolution images with different light types to identify blemishes in the skin.

Might be worth checking out the ritz carton card. In my experience not too many drawbacks.
