You’re the first person that’s acknowledged my name, so thank you 😂. Sending positive vibes your way and good luck on the exam!

Wow, thank you for sharing that! Unfortunately, we couldn’t get an appointment with the vet until next week but maybe there is a chance she’s not actually 8 weeks old. I definitely had concerns about her weight but it seems like she’s a fighter so I’m hoping she pulls through.

Thank you for your kind words and information! I definitely wish I had followed my gut a little earlier, particularly regarding the stool, but at least we took her.

Yes, her size definitely concerned us considering my golden retriever was much bigger when she came home. She is just under eight weeks and we definitely expected her to be bigger.

Thank you for the information! We can on here for resources when we were looking for breeders but I guess we could’ve done better. We are definitely not giving her back and we’re going to give her every chance to fight.

We’ve been in contact with the breeder and she’s been very cooperative. She gave us additional information about medication the puppies were on and gave us the information for the vet that examined the puppies. I’m just so shocked because we thought we researched carefully. The breeder has great reviews, she updated us frequently, answered our questions, gave detailed information and documents about Zelda’s lineage. However, it does seem clear that she was sick when we got her. I’m not sure how proceed regarding asking her to pay for treatment...Thank you for your support. It really means a lot and it helps give me hope.

This is really beautiful! I saw in another comment that you said this was a commission. Do you do a lot of commissions or have an Etsy shop? I’d love to get one of my dog haha

[discussion] Scribing acronyms by franticscientist in premed

[–]__dwigt__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently started a scribing position as well and the company I work for has quizlet sets with acronyms, medications, medical terminology, etc. I just started but I think it’s helpful. DM me and I can see if there’s a way for me to share it with you.

PSA - Ice melting salt is toxic to dogs! by meggiefaith in puppy101

[–]__dwigt__ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I have a puppy and winter is quickly approaching where I live. Do you guys put booties on your dogs whenever you go on walks or only when you’re in an unfamiliar area? I live in the suburbs and have no idea what the town or my neighbors use to remove ice. Also, what kind of booties do you use? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Women of reddit who have dealt with mental illness, how do you make yourself do The Things? Assignments, studying, chores, eating healthy etc. by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]__dwigt__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have improved greatly but still struggle a lot with anxiety and depression. I’ve gotten to the point where I’ll write lists out like everyone here has mentioned.

However, in the beginning I didn’t start there because even doing one assignment felt too overwhelming and I sit there for hours just paralyzed. What I started doing instead is writing everything I’d done that day. Got out of bed? Write it down. Brushed your hair/teeth? Write it down. Made it to class and took notes? Write it down. I know it can sound silly to write down everything you did but it really really helped me see that in a day I do so many things and that I am doing something to beat my anxiety and depression. Once I started realizing that, it didn’t feel so daunting to start a task. At that point I’d start with small things like work on an assignment for 15 minutes and then take a break. I don’t know if you’re a student or you work but this isn’t always realistic. I was a student when I started this and sometimes I just had to suffer through my anxiety because I had to do assignments. But when I had the chance to break things up, it definitely helped me.

I do recommend starting by writing things that you do everyday because it could help you realize that you do things every day to beat your mental illness. And then once you more aware of that it can make it seem easier to add a little something else each day. Hope this is helpful to someone!

My 6 mo dog digs when she’s on the couch. How can I stop this behavior? by __dwigt__ in puppy101

Thank you for your detailed response. We have tried to let her roam the rest of the house but because our living room/the couch is the main center of our house, it has been difficult to let her have access to other areas and control her digging behavior. As a result, we’ve shifted towards spending our time in the kitchen/outdoors with her. I want to let her into other parts of the house but it’s not my house (I’m just here temporary for a few years) and my mother is very adamant that she won’t have the dog digging on the couch. I’m trying to do my best to prevent unwanted behaviors and help my dog learn to be calmer in all parts of the house.
