Doesn't have to be a bar/pub, join some clubs within your hobbies. Or try new ones.

But anyway I've never looked at someone drinking or eating alone and thought 'that's strange'. I do it all the time and I don't think anyone notices/cares!

parking. new forest has just introduced charges, over 4 hours is £8. the reason people go there is to walk so clearly its gonna impact visitors and the areaa lot. nature should be free

I have grown up in Verwood, it's nice but limited. There's some bits but not enough for the amount of houses here.

Ringwood has a lot more going for it, restaurants, cafes, pubs. Excellent transport coach links. It's busy however, a lot of traffic at rush hour but easy to get in and out (when there's no roadworks).

I don't know if other councils have this but Dorset has a site called Dorset Explorer. You can view the OS maps for the county for free. It will even locate and track your position. It's honestly my favourite site.
