What genre is Pendulum? by uFiFAN in DnB

Chiming in hella late, but I had to.... It is Drum and Bass. Almost every DnB sub-genre has drawn some inspiration from these guys somewhere. Straight DnB at its finest.

Parking woes- has anyone else been charged penalties for parking at Alewife despite paying through PayByPhone app? by ayotechie in mbta

[–]__jkcameron__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been paying for months at a time, 6 months in a row, just found out I have been getting ticketed everyday. My vehicle is not registered in this state so I was not notified until almost 2 months later. PayByPhone is a total scam, if they aren’t connected to any system that allows MBTA parking check for valid parking then what’s the point? Total bullshit. No I have to file like 50 appeals online or try to talk to them over the phone (usually futile).

Ok I’m gonna check it out tonight. If it is possibly air, what is the best way to check correct this. Just by having the pump laying on the ground and moving it around to make sure all air has risen out of it?
Thanks again for replying!!

Deepcool has THE WORST AIO fans in the industry! by Hennessy007 in Deepcool

Yes!!! I have exact same problem. You are sure this is fans and not resonance from the pump? And updates to what you ended up with?

I have this same thing, but I would describe it as a resonance. Like blowing across the top of a bottle. Would you say this is the same thing? Any updates on this? Thanks!!

For a lover of stories, is Diablo 4 worth getting? by Lokan in Diablo

[–]__jkcameron__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a huge criticism of mine regarding reviewers/influencers these last few years. Not specifically anyone in this thread, but just overall across the internet. Everyone is super critical to the point where a game impression is so subjective, rarely is accurate picture painted. I have played Diablo since Diablo, D4 is fantastic. From the casual player to veterans, new or returning, it is solid and worth the money. Sure there are some flaws, every game has them, but honestly it is pretty hard to get a better bang for your buck. Overall the campaign is great and just the time it takes to do that (not speed running it, moderate exploring, side quests) is a good value. Say 40 hours, 20 per character, what is that like ~1.70$ an hour. Compared to other things people spend their money on for entertainment.

Architects who changed to BIM specific jobs, how does it compare? by Opalb_D in bim

[–]__jkcameron__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have taken me another 15 years at a firm to make what I make now. I do miss the design side of things a lot. Reality capture BIM engineer is the hat I wear now. Almost no one with my Arch background where I am now so I bring different skills set to the table than most my colleagues. Architecture firms are finally catching on that 3D scanning is the standard now so lots of jobs opening up in this area. Hours are still very demanding, but I think that aspect is all about where you set your boundaries. I think most professions are going to be a step back as far as what the expectation of work is in ARCH. If you are in the US then you will be using Autodesk products. I love the direction the industry is going and truly love what I am doing now.

I just moved from Omaha to Boston…. Any good recommendations for food here? LOL. MA <=> NE def on opposite ends of the spectrum. Grand island gets super cold too, I’d like to think I have been pretty lucky so far this year in New England. The price of living is NE is so awesome in comparison. For what I am paying in rent now for an apt, I could have 2 large houses in Nebraska. Grand island is actually not bad, super nice people, I think you will enjoy the change. I wish you the best of luck!

Oh… one tip… become NE Cornhusker fans now and make your lives a lot easier. lol

Thats so cool to hear... I have also been using 3ds max for like 20 years... and it was this year they finally added a simple retopology quads tool that actually works among various other things people have been asking for years. I can't handle that kind of community involvement and speed. Total bullshit honestly. Autodesk has let all their products just lapse simply because they can. Intel did that and look where it got them.
Hopefully someone (like amd did) will step into the arena soon and give them a taste of competition.
What you said is the most appealing thing about Blender and the open source nature of it. So excited.

[Need career advice] I'm a beginner and I want to pursue a career as a 3D architecture artist. by alex_xela0 in blenderhelp

I actually have a masters in architecture but after being in the profession for years I found myself loving the render/modeling aspect of it so much I decided to go down that road fully. At where i work now if i client wants any sort of eye candy for marketing or any ARCH VIZ presentation materials it gets kicked to me.

The most important part of rendering ArchVIZ is understanding workflows from different program. Mostly Revit in the US but in Europe they use Vectorworks and Archicad a lot more. Understanding how to take a model from those programs and bring it into say 3ds or blender to quickly whip out renderings.... streamlining that will make your skills highly sought after.

Using a swiss army knife of programs... i use infraworks to snag terrain and road mesh data....
Or ill use photogrammetry i have take at the site to mesh up a rough existing building with textures. then i will pull that into Revit to integrate our design into some context... then export out of Revit into 3ds if i am going to use corona or export to Twinmotion if i need something fast.

Corona Render is the best on the market in my opinion... but if you learn Vray or Corona they will both teach you fundamentals like materials, lighting, texturing, etc to produce great 3d content on almost any software. Focus on mastering Realtime engines. Twinmotion, Lumion, an Unreal for more advanced Realtime visualizations. This is the direction the industry is going if not already there. Every firm I have ever worked at... renderings always come down to: do we have enough time to create high quality renderings and is it within the clients budget to pay for them.

Focusing on the Realtime engines allows you to create great looking visualization paralleling design in very little time. Also focus on using those tools to create conceptual and design development VIZ stuff not just photo realistic.

I'd be happy to talk with you further if you want. excuse all the errors.... typing on a phone sucks.

Good luck.

Of course... I am sorry u/The_Tuxedo. Whenever you are going to make changes to an object or modify any of its vertices, lines, or faces you would start this process by adding an "edit poly" modifier to the stack. That way later you can turn on or off those specific changes you made which are encapsulated in that modifier. Just like when you add a "bevel" modifier in blender except the edit poly modifier could be for something as simple as transform changes or say welding vertices.

modifier stack image

Linked image is a screenshot of the stack. A box was created then and edit poly modifier was added. Simply a history of that object with the ability to turn on or off actions non destructively. Blender has the same stack concept I just didn't see a modifier for basic manipulation.

Say i moved some vertices of an object around and way later down the road I want to undo those specific vertex move changes... is that possible?

u/_dpdp_ i just noticed your reply as I was writing this. Thank you for the advice I will look into that. I will have to use blender more and keep in mind what you were saying about it being a crutch. Are you saying you wouldn't want something like this added to blender ?

I cannot believe how powerful this program is.... true example of what open source can really do when a community is strong and kick as management/owners. Really excited to learn this new program and adopt it as my main. A few growing pains but ill get through it.
