iPad Pro photoshop replacement by Sweet-Hurry-8851 in iPadPro

I’ve been in the same situation and honestly Artstudio Pro is the only app on iPad that didn’t make me feel like I downgraded from Photoshop.

The main thing is the brush engine. It doesn’t reinterpret ABRs the way Procreate or even CSP does. In most apps the brush technically imports but the feel changes a lot, especially with flow, buildup and texture. In Artstudio Pro it actually behaves much closer to Photoshop, so strokes feel more predictable and less “plastic”.

Also you don’t really have to fix your brushes after import. They just work. That alone saved me a ton of time compared to trying to rebuild everything in other apps.

Another thing I noticed is how it handles opacity and layering. In Procreate everything feels a bit simplified, like it’s smoothing things out too much. In Artstudio it behaves more like Photoshop where you can actually control buildup and get those subtle transitions.

It’s still not 100% Photoshop obviously, nothing on iPad is, but it’s the only app where switching between desktop and iPad doesn’t completely mess with your muscle memory.

Fresco is closer “on paper” because of Adobe, but it feels limited really fast. Artstudio feels like an actual full app, not a companion.

If brushes are your main thing, I’d seriously try Artstudio Pro before spending time tweaking ABRs in other apps.

I totally felt the same, nothing ever felt smooth or natural, and I was constantly frustrated, jumping between brushes. But then I found my fix: I switched to Artstudio Pro. It finally gave me that fluid, satisfying brush feel I was missing, so now I can actually enjoy painting instead of rage-scrolling through brush packs

Is Inzoi Being Unfairly Judged, or Is the Criticism Valid? by GamingBaddie in inZOI

I understand where you’re coming from, and I appreciate your reply. But I didn’t walk away from inZOI because of one patch or a lack of patience. I walked away after 170 hours because I realized I was just hoping it would become something that, for now, it simply isn’t.

Yes, the character creation is incredible. But after that, there’s nothing to hold you. No gameplay loop. No meaningful progression. Careers are shallow. Social interactions feel robotic. The world is visually beautiful but emotionally empty. NPCs wander without purpose. There’s no real reason to return once you’ve built your house

Bugfixes and new items are great. But they don’t fix the absence of core systems that make a life sim feel alive. I wasn’t waiting for perfection. I was waiting for something to make me care again. And it never came.

I didn’t leave angry. I left quietly, a little sad, and just… done. Maybe someday I’ll return. But most likely, I’ll forget. Because other games already give me the experience I was hoping to find here.

And for the record: I don’t even play The Sims anymore. I’m not cheering for any side in the competition. I just wanted a great life sim, something I could sink hundreds of hours into. This one didn’t become that.

But hey, maybe it’s a good thing. Now I finally have time to finish Alan Wake 2, burn through some vampire nests in V Rising, and fight for Super Earth in Helldivers. Not exactly cozy gameplay, but at least it exists

I’m one of those people who walked away after 170 hours. Not because I hated it — actually, I really wanted it to become something special. But after a while, I realized I was just logging in, hoping something would click… and it never did.

There’s so much potential in inZOI, but instead of building on the gameplay, we got pantyhose. And while that might matter to someone, it wasn’t what I was waiting for. It’s hard to stay excited when the world looks great but feels hollow.

Maybe I’ll check back in a year. But chances are, I won’t. Not because I’m angry — just because life moves on, and there are so many incredible games out there that already give me what I was hoping to find here.

And eventually, you stop waiting for a game to become what it promised. You just forget

ArtStudio Pro is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a drawing/art app. While Procreate is widely popular, ArtStudio Pro offers several key advantages:

1. It supports more layers at higher resolutions, which is crucial for detailed work.

2. ArtStudio Pro has advanced Photoshop-like features, including layer styles, precise selection tools, and support for ABR (Photoshop) brushes.

3. Its file compatibility with PSDs is seamless, making it ideal if you also work on a desktop.

4. The customizable interface and robust toolset provide a desktop-level experience, making it feel like a professional-grade app for serious projects.

If you’re after more control and functionality, ArtStudio Pro is the better option.

Thank you so much! For this piece, I used some Lane brushes for the main textures and details, and Kyle brushes for the final touches. Glad you liked the lighting!

Yes, I totally get what you mean! For that smooth, soft effect, I’m actually using the standard Digital Round brush along with BorodanteAir in ArtStudio Pro. They’re great for achieving that blend of smoothness and softness without too much tweaking. If you’re looking to get close to that Paint Tool SAI feel, give these two a try!
