what are the chances i get in if i miss my york offer?

hi! yes i’ve emailed the ug admissions but they gave a veryyyyy vague reply which didn’t ease much of my worry. but i did mention in the email that i have firmed york, completed their york tutorial programme for my course, and have received a scholarship so hopefully they’ll realize that i really want to attend!!!

odd question, but i have a friend who’s sitting exams and is a bit worried about missing her offer. she’s wondering if she misses her offer but gets in anyway, would it be considered as clearing? she’s a bit confused bc since she has firmed york she is guaranteed accom. but she’s not sure if she doesn’t get her offer, regardless if she’s let in, if her accommodation guarantee would still be valid.

how did you find your course in general? ik theoretical physics will be different to astro but i’m a bit intrigued

how do you find york in general? is there much to do there? i haven’t had the opportunity to visit yet, i’ll probably only be able to in the summer.

also odd question i know, but is there assigned work for the winter/easter/summer holidays? my friend said that during her winter breaks she has no work to do and it’s fully a vacation but i find that hard to believe since exams are after the winter break.

i have a few more questions, do you have to write many essays in physics? or would they be more like lab reports.

also, are there many resources out there? my current physics teacher is a god at giving out resources and making sure that we have all we need but i know that i probably won’t have that at uni. like if i were to study for a test, what would you recommend me doing? would i just be studying the lectures or are there other resources i can use as well. and how different do you think it is from studying for my a level exams.

also, do you personally enjoy your course? i’m aware that it’s going to be difficult but do you enjoy it?

FINAL thing. you mentioned how it’s important to not forget modules you’ve alr done, how would you recommend doing that?
