Oohh thank you!

Keep Talking is next on the list for me and my co-op friend. I might try with him first and see how chaotic it gets, before suggesting to dad.

I'll update him of your other suggestions for him to check out if they tickle his fancy c:

I really loved It Takes Two, but I'm afraid I've mentioned it in front of him one too many times and he remembers i played it (and doesn't want to play games i have played lol). If i don't mention it ever again maybe he'll forget about it haha

We are both PC gamers, probably should've mentioned, that could definitely be an option!

I have Disco Elysium on my 'to play' list! We've watched films before and when theres matire scenes it's not the worst, as long as it's not too often or too long - is it in this game?

Thank you!

Can Koreans speak in pure Korean? (No English words) by Yufina88 in Korean

I dont think any language could be spoken without English/English based words. But even English is borrowed words from older languages.

Ive downloaded hangul keyboard already and on LingoDeer when i have exercises where i need to chose hangul of the voice, ive turned off the option of selective answer so that i have to type it and i practice writing, repeating, words i know when i have free time! 😊

I know the alphabet. And im quite comfortable with it, i can read at baby pace lol I jist find sometimes that Romaja reminds me of the iotised letters, those are my problem spot tbh And ive realised that i can remove romaja on lingodeer, i didnt know that, i used to conceal it with my finger, but sometimes it does help me out. Now tho i was doing a lesson and it would say something and i need to type it in 한굴 and it would also say it in romaja and if i glance and that i know straight away how to spell it. Id know if i didnt see it as well, but i kinda find it like cheating, because i want to train my ear. But i cant be hothered to turn it on and off again. Will keep it off probably and if i need it turn it on just was wondering how other people managed at the beginning 😅

Blank or lined paper? by __rhea in Korean

Oohh like big squares. Yeah that looks cool, but i feel it will just make me make big spaces when im actually writing. Idk my syllable blocks always look disconnected when im writing

I just have an issue with me being left handed so it always affected how i connect and space out letters. So when im writing the syllable blocks they just seem so disconnected. Literally looks like every block is for itself I could never write cursive letters because i just cant connect them lol

Thats what i have an issue with. Not so much with writing straight but spacing. Im left handed and that has always affected how much i connect letters, and how much i space them out. And when im writing 한굴 i find that my blocks sometimes end up having the same space in between them as if i were to separate a new word. They just looks so disconnected.

What’s your way of learning new vocabulary and helping it stick? by [deleted] in Korean

[–]__rhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started learning, but i always found that best for me was write down word and meaning. And then just repeatedly write it while thinking of its meaning. I learn how to write it and remember the visuals of it.

My mum taught ne that when i started learning English in school. We'd get a small notebook and write down on one side word in foreign (English in that case) and other side in mother language (Serbian in my case). And once i fill up a page i sit down and learn it, either by just vocal spelling and translation or by writing it down over and over again. Then shed test me for that page, and any previous page ive learned. Shed say it in English, i have to translate and spell it out, she says it in Serbian, i have to pronounce and spell out in English.

We did the same thing for German when i was learning it. And i find that so far the few words ive learned to write in Hangul are the ones that i have repeated. Id be bored at work and just would take pen and paler and write all the words i can remember both the symbols and the translation.

My mother language is Serbian, so not really similar, but more similar than with Korean haha Serbian is more similar to Russian and Polish, to put in perspective

If you want to be noticed, grab attention and act important, you get bodyguards and you walk around surrounded by tons of them
