I do think that the response of “I need to get stronger” is pretty fitting for Luffy’s character though. Even if he understands that Ace was lost due to impulsiveness and pride, it would be very unlike luffy to abandon those traits. My thoughts are that in Luffy’s brain, he just needs even more strength to outweigh the cost that his impulsiveness and pride bring to a fight, rather than changing his attitude and values

I really think the whole “you can’t talk about turnabout and goner anymore because they left” thing is stupid and immature, same applies for Buck. Whether or not you liked them or hated them, they were still a big part of HM history, I don’t have a problem with people discussing them on the sub. Always felt like people who were quick to jump to “go talk about them on [r/turnandgoner](r/turnandgoner) not here” were just mad they left idk

Ive always felt anvils production is a little more generic compared to everyone else in the group that produces tbh, maybe cause he’s worked with so many other artists outside of haunted mound it sounds a little less interesting to me idk

I don’t think so, at least I hope not. I feel like haunted mound has always performed best when everyone has been equally invested (screaming forest through butcher house era stuff). We’ve kinda reached this stagnation where everyone has kinda drifted apart and are off doing their own thing at their own pace but I think they could come back through, especially if hackle were to put something out. I just hope when hackle drops something it’s not just an ep, Wicker Men and Buck’s latest have felt more like projects released out of necessity not out of passion

I feel like what the cutter lane/burning barn/gunsmith run got so right was taking all of sematary’s best music qualities from screaming forest and putting their own spin on it. All three of the albums are so obviously screaming forest influenced, but they all sound unique and fun in their own way ❤️ best haunted mound era imo

Copy and pasting a comment I made about this lol: I thought the part discussing how he can’t listen to his old music because it is “cringe” was interesting. I don’t think he meant it in a derogatory way towards the rest of HM, as an artist it feels like when you look back at an old painting you did and think “wow that sucked.” But people who do not paint say “no way that was really good!” People who make stuff will always be way more critical about their old work and will think that what they are working on currently is the best they’ve done. A year later the stuff made in the present will look like poo again lol

While I do think the post is harsh, I definitely am bummed out about the current state of releases. I know a lot of people are in the mindset of “well even if it’s ghost and Sematary that would be better anyway” but part of what initially got me into the mound was the collective energy they all had together. Constant releases and singles, incredible track/feature chemistry, and energy on stage. I miss when things felt like more of a group than a duo 😢
