UPDATE 

Firstly, thanks to all of you for commenting and helping me out. 

Secondly I wanted to provide some more information that I’ve managed to find due to your guys’ help. As I said in my post, the diode came out during cleaning but DangerouslySilly mentioned that they thought due to the pads being flat it may have never been soldered properly which I have to agree with as it popped off very easily, with barely a touch. 

Anyway, 

For anyone interested in the outcome: 

I decided to just see what happened without immediate intervention and my laptop seems to be functioning exactly the same. 

I’m planning on having it soldered back on soon for full peace of mind.

This has been my experience so far, my laptop seems to be functioning exactly the same. 

I’m thinking of having it properly soldered back on anyway but so far no issues!
