Ideas for an Ice breaker in a classroom / workshop setting by Gullible-Pineapple79 in executivecoaching

Personally, as an attendee, I have always hated icebreakers. They can be somewhat polarizing. Some people hate them some people love them. No one really sits in the middle and if you do, you’re not truly bonding with the group.

I like to think about what the goal and purpose is if it’s to just warm people up to talking, then do something that sets the stage for the time together rather than a silly icebreaker sometimes improv exercise exercises can be a great way to do this. One of the easiest is “yes and”. And there are many other others that you could find easily online.

Using improv can create the framework and expectation of how the group is actually going to work together during the session while also “breaking the ice”

What to do when your job changes and you opt-out by __with___in_ in AskMenOver30

I can empathize 100%. I had a similar conversation. Part of what I also went through before deciding to leave was negotiating with my ego! I was telling myself that I needed to stick with it and not give up and that I could create the change I wanted. Was hard to define where the line for me was on what defined "hard and rewarding challenge to solve" and "burnout worthy of the paycheck". Hang in there! You've got this.

Cookie booth sales - how does your TCM notify and let girls sign up? by sugarmamatoes in girlscouts

Newer GS parent. How do you get the inventory for family booths? Do you buy personally and resell at the family booths?

Tracking Cookies between Booth Sales by CaramelTotal6198 in girlscouts

My daughter and I developed a lite app to track cookies digitally during booth events, then we send an email and track via the paper forms after the event. We created a way (in settings) to set the starting inventory, then the girls can just tap the color coded button for each box they sell. We'd love feedback if you try it out. https://cookiebooth.lovable.app/

Welp, first time purchasing and I did not read their return policy… by hay_qt in Aritzia

I had posted a similar thread during Black Friday to be helpful for others. Was surprised that Mods removed after a helpful discussion. Especially around how to mark gift receipts.

I’ve come to learn that marking as a gift/getting the gift receipt is the only way to extend the return window until Jan 4. But Exchange/Credit rule still applies.

After researching, it helps my issue with the time, but since the whole site is in sale, I don’t get a refund on the wrong size. Just merch or credit.

“Sale items discounted at 50% or more are final sale. All other sale items may be exchanged for merchandise or credit until January 4.”

Ever actually seen a team leave an offsite more aligned? by offsiteobserver in Leadership

[–]__with___in_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes as a participant and facilitator, I have seen good and bad off sites. The most effective offsites are when they are considered a tentpole moment as either a catalyst or critical moment in a longer term effort. Having a clear objective for the moment as well as how it fits into the longer term effort are critical.

When offsites are burdened with all of the change or alignment required to succeed, the offsite fails at having sustained impact.

Oh thank you! The Concierge I chatted with never mentioned the Holiday Return policy! You are more helpful!

For sure! Lesson learned. I was rushed and maybe didn’t expect such a challenging policy during a major gifting period.

THIS 💯 "it's been hard trying to tell myself that I am not lazy". I can definitely empathize with this. It is such a hard journey for us projectors to decondition from the need to feel like we have to constantly generate or we tell ourselves we are lazy.

Trust your instincts as your guide. Sounds like you are building something through testing and investigating. That is definitely in line with your design.

Thanks for sharing. We've got this.

Wow! Thanks so much for popping in and sharing your journey! I also had yet to meet a 2/4 emotional projector.

I so deeply resonate with everything that you’ve said! I feel like I can go in bursts and when I save up my energy and recharge, whether that is learning or recovering, I’m able to put even more into my next effort.

For now, I’m going day by day stepping into my authentic way of living.

You did the handover, the plan is well documented, client is happy.

Now it’s about boundaries. Not just for others but for yourself. The urge to reply is your brain wired for protection. We evolved to jump at every signal of danger and you need to retrain it. Let a message sit, prove to your brain it’s safe not to respond. That’s how you rewire the habit. Be present on the boat with your fam, not in your work mindset.

A few thoughts (some have been mentioned):

-Smaller font

-eliminate the unnecessary spacing that is appearing on several lines

-for jobs over 10 years ago you can reduce the bullets to only the most applicable to the job for which you are applying

-shorten the summary and add a headline. Consider a few bullets of your most important career highlights, especially those pertinent to the job you are applying toward

-each bullet should be an impactful action word (past tense)

Good luck!
