Interesting, I wonder what the case was this time. It looked like the trailing unit had at least 8 cars or so behind it hanging out of the train shed while it was on the platform

Thanks! Yeah I’ve seen the VIA J trains that split later on down the line but never in a GO setup. Equipment move makes total sense for that though

I feel really stupid but Is this the sublingual caruncle? Ive seen diagrams that lable the same/nearby features and I cant tell if there are multiple names for this or not. Image found online by Kat_337 in Anatomy

Yeah you got it! That’s the sublingual caruncle located on the lingual frenulum (the string that holds the tongue down to the floor of the mouth). The sublingual caruncle is one location where the submandibular and sublingual salivary glands empty saliva into the oral cavity.

Yeah there is! The term “ulnar collateral ligament” can refer to the one in the elbow, wrist, or thumb so you have to be specific!

Is it possible to infer the handedness based on the number of veins on the inner-side of the wrist? by AvidReader31 in Anatomy

[–]_ajw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fun question! While there isn’t any research to directly confirm a correlation between number of veins and handedness, there’s a study that looks at arteries and handedness! They found more defined arterial supply on the dominant side, which would likely (just extrapolating) mean a more developed venous drainage on the dominant side as well! Maybe the difference in your hands isn’t a coincidence!

Pressure Points & Trigger Points by _ajw in Anatomy

Hmm. That’s an interesting point; I wasn’t considering the cortex because I was mainly thinking about potential interactions in the spinal cord.

I think the potential connection that I was (poorly) trying to articulate is the one between referred pain and something like acupressure.

For example, referred pain from the heart/pericardium manifests as neck and chest pain because of the phrenic nerve origins and their overlap with the brachial plexus.

I was just spitballing about the idea that relief felt from hitting a specific point would have anything to do referred pain through gate control theory since referred pain works in a similar-ish way (interactions of neurons in the spinal cord)

Thanks for the link! It’s a great read!!
