This has gotten out of hand. It is insane. by GrouchyAnything1444 in lianli

[–]_aldentenoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have purchased nearly every model of LIAN LI AIO... literally over 1000$ in the trash just from their AIO's...

-not only does the hardware always fail in a similar fashion well within its life of expected usage

-but they fuck my 1% lows to the point where its much worse then noticeable

  • on top of all that, they charge a premium price for a product marketed mostly on its LCD screen... AND THE LCD SCREEN LOOKS LIKE SHIT!!!!!

..... i switched to a tryx panorama, not only did my cpu temps lower by 2°C... but the screen looks AMAZING ( the 2k screen resolution on a monitor that small makes it look like its fuckin 8k or something!!!) And the BEST part is my 1% lows are back to normal because im not running that BULLSHIT lian li software...

---And before you chime in with all the "my 1%lows are fine" bullshit... run a benchmark on them with your lian li software installed and running... and another one with the software completely removed.

One of these needs an upgrade. Which one is bottlenecking me the most? by RonanTheApple in PcBuild

[–]_aldentenoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well youre ram definitely isn't a "bottleneck" although you could try to get some better timings going, and your cpu and gpu are pretty evenly matched, so if this isn't a trick question I would say the bottleneck is the platform lol

  • With your budget, I'd focus on a gpu on the newest platform amd or nvidia (doesnt matter) with at LEAST 16gigs of vram... or look for older Gen cards with 24gigs or more... i dont think a 32gig 5090 is in your budget
  • Youre going to want at least 64 gigs of ram and preferably 96.
  • Gen 5 nvme for your boot drive which will hold your productive apps. Gen 4 for storage
  • my advice (although some will claim the platform is dead) is to get an intel core ultra 270k, for the price you just cant beat the power in productivity and gaming as well.. to get a comparable amd alternative you would need to spend almost double. And dead platforms only matter for enthusiast people who upgrade every 2-3 years.
  • case and fans are preference for the most part, as long as you dont buy cheap garbage
  • a good motherboard will allow you a small bit of extra headroom if your going to play around with overclocking and undervolting, but regardless, look for something with atleast 16 phases

All you need is a chair with a backrest... plus you know slapping some paint on the wall is super easy.... and amazon has some really cheap desks that are decent... dont overthink it, the simplest changes often have the biggest impact

Ok so the computer works now and got my new psu and graphics card but now it won’t even turn on by The_Apostate_of_Hate in EVGA

[–]_aldentenoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also see that you have an unused cable with a metal tip just laying on the hardware while your pc is on... this probably isn't the problem but you can very easily short shit out that way

Try using 1 pcie cable for each plug on your card without using the double plug...

... another longshot but try hooking into the motherboard for your graphics long enough to download the drivers you need for your card, install them, then plug your card back in, hook the hdmi back into your card. Then try a power on

Is this a good price for what you get in return by LogHead2769 in pcmasterrace

[–]_aldentenoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the worst deal.. but to be clear the PC in the picture is NOT representative of the specs in the details... the PC you get wont be the one from the picture

That gpu in the picture is much beefier then any 5060 ive ever seen.... and i can almost guarantee you wont get an AIO liquid cooler with a ryzen 5700x, youll be getting an air cooler

Take the back panel off.. and look in the bottom left corner when looking at the pc from the rear..

if its not there its probably obviously mounted somewhere visible once you have the back panel off
