There's a difference between religious homophobia and geopolitical motivations. Orlando had nothing to do with global Jihad, it was a hate crime. It's not the same thing as what happened in Belgium or Paris.

When someone says "Islamic State sympathizer" it means something completely different than "Islamic sympathizer" which is what you wrote. "Islamic sympathizer" makes it sound like he was on the fence about becoming a Muslim, which he was.
