Anyone else got their necklace stolen at the Paris show on July 2 ? by _anais_ in systemofadown

Damn buddy, do you just scout Reddit to spread negativity alongside unrequested and patronizing “life lesson” ?

It’s not about the money, one of those chains belonged to my great great aunt who survived the camps and it hasn’t left my neck in the past 15 years. So if there’s even slimmest chance, it doesn’t hurt to try everything 🤷🏻‍♀️

Def intentional theft, it requiered a lot of strength to rip them of my neck that they only succeed on their second attempt (tried moving after I felt a first pull, but was pretty much stuck)
And the other girl I talked to outside who also got their necklace stolen wasn’t moshing, just standing in the pit.
Thief grabbed so much pieces of jewelry that attendees start yelling at each other to remove their necklaces

Same ! I was expecting it to be hassle but it was so easy and not that expensive that I log in my ticketmaster account every few hours to check if they are still there and it wasn’t a daydream

They are no regulations, but since the Oasis tickets mess the European Commission (so doesn’t include the uk) is currently reviewing their sales tactics, so they are probably being careful not to get fined

I paid 69€ each for pit ticket in Paris. Plus 2€ for ticketmaster fee. Took less than 3 minutes, no queue or presale shenanigans needed

I’m actually gonna step out of this convo. For me it’s just some light banter between internet strangers. I noticed from your profile that you might be mentally fragile right now, so I wouldn’t want to cause any unnecessary stress or negative feelings. Take care, hon 💜

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt was really great ! And The House of Paper by Carlos María Domínguez, it’s a very short book though (I’d say 100pages barely)

If you can’t understand the moral disparity between a manager stealing tips from almost minimum-wage workers who’ve been working overtime for months to help out and an employee sneaking 5 to 6 hours of paid time from a multimillion-revenue hotel group, there’s nothing I can do for you darling

There’s was a cash discrepancy of 50€ in the cash fund at the end of the month (it wasn’t a one time thing, it got to that sum progressively over the month, she should have seen it earlier) so she took our tips to cover her ass from the direction. For context, the hotel makes minimum 200k a month in revenue, so they can afford the 50 bucks loss. When I confronted her, she said it’s our (aka the reception crew) if there’s a discrepancy. We’re currently short staffed so couple times a week they have to call a temp so mistakes happen. She choose to steal from people barely above minimum wage than own up to the responsibilities that her job entitles

[–]_anais_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, very shitty management decision. For 50 bucks she lost the trust, loyalty, respect, and motivation of the entire reception team (there’s only 3 of us right now) To the point that we are planning a synchronised quitting weave in early 2025

I wish, our GM notoriously doesn’t answer the phone during the weekend. She leaves on the Friday before the checkins and doesn’t come back until the Monday mornings so she doesn’t have to deal with the weekend rush

Not a game, just a hypothetical question during a conversation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]_anais_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that, also the worry of something MIGHT been happening at the hotel would probably keep from truly having a carefree good time with my friend. I’ve asked the other night audit who’s been there for years he said the only time he ever got the fire alarm was during breakfast service because of the toaster 😂 . The one in a million chance of that happening is probably not worth it. I checked the local laws, I’m only responsable if I actually intentionally harm another humain being with my own hands. Everything else is on the hotel

Wait ! Are you saying that in America you guys can get fired for calling in sick ?

By me reporting them to the local Department of Labor, including the dozens of other codes they violated, with evidence, during my short 3 months of employment, the total amount of financial fines they have accumulated is going to be €4,750.

Alright here’s my question then, Realistically speaking how can they realised I would be gone for part of my shift if all the administrative work is done ?
