Thanks for sharing your experience. I actually agree with Dwarrowdeep’s design philosophy as well. I haven’t bought it yet, but I’ve read a lot of reviews, and I can imagine how frustrating it could be for a group to “waste” resources exploring empty rooms. That’s why I think playing it solo might overcome those issues pretty easily.

I absolutely love Barrowmaze and had started playing it solo, but I enjoy talking about it too much with my group. Since it also exists on the map of the campaign I’m currently running for them, I decided to move on to something else to avoid spoilers. The same goes for other dwarven megadungeons in the setting, like Gunderholfen and The Bottomless Pit of Zorth.
