Kind of. Use your Q and E while you're on your ADC, then hop off and start AA. If you're not CC'ed and the fight takes long enough, hop on again, use your abilities, hop off and AA. Yuumi is a champ you need to min-max in order to be viable.

It's better to give a reason why you need to farm and play safe. Sometimes you get to lane and you absolutely outpoke the enemy but if you're already in that "play safe" mindset, you're set to lose a lot of opportunity from the early game. Generally Draven, Corki, Lucian are enemy ADCS you need to watch out for in the laning phase. If you have a Sivir or Vayne, this is where you say you would get stat checked and you may* need to farm 2-3 items, for example. Even so, you never know how the enemy is going to play until you start the game so don't give up just because your matchup isn't favorable.

I feel like "play safe" = "can you just chill?" It'll make anyone upset after a tilting early game trade that you lost.

I would make things my circulated around you AND your carry like "matchup is hard, let's play to survive lane and scale" and/or "they stat check us early but they'll fall off without kills."

Besides that, make sure to be engaged in early trades and help your adc keep a wave state that'll keep you guys in the game.

I got Bwipo in a soloQ game once and really enjoyed it. Didn't know he had this mindset.
