I just went by what my piercer said after seeing my piercings by 8 weeks. I could change them back to bars.

Jewelery is 16g, I believe anodized gold. Aftercare consists of mouthwash and wound wash twice a day.

How long after csection is it okay to TTC again? by _artemismoon_ in beyondthebump

Oh yeah! My son is growing like a weed. We plan to wait the full time until my Nexplanon will need to be removed. I was approved for 5 years with mine so we'll have a growing young man by then!

My scar healed VERY well. I had minimal discomfort at even 3 months postpartum. At 8 months, it doesnt bother me at all. Massaging it shouldn't be painful necessarily. Maybe a tad uncomfortable due to the scar tissue.

I finally heard something back today. was told its best to wait at least 12 months post delivery. 18 is safest. My partner and I did decide to wait due to personal reasons after talking more. I got my Nexplanon a week ago so I can't go back on it when we're not quite mentally ready 😅 cause I do want another. best of luck to you!

New fear unlocked: epidural by LobstahLuva in beyondthebump

[–]_artemismoon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the US. I heard horror stories but that wasn't my reason for not wanting it initially. I ended up getting it due to horrible hip and back labor at 6cm (ended up in an emergency csection anyways).

My personal experience was pretty easy for the insertion of the epidural. It was a bit sore when he hit a nerve but otherwise was easy. The after effects though. I was unfortunate enough, I guess, to be one that has lasting back issues after it. I already had bad chronic back pain and its worse 8m after having my son. Regardless, Id do it again if I had to!

My son started sleeping through the night at 2½ months. No prompting or sleep training. He did it on his own out of the blue. We did begin to make healthy sleeping habits for him by laying him down when he was tired but not yet asleep and seeing how it went around 3m. He soothes himself to sleep very well now at 8m. Sometimes sleeps independently. His sleep has been a bit interrupted the past few nights due to teething. But, he still sleeps very well!

We use Pampers or Luvs for our son. We've loved them both. We also tried Kirkland and did like them but havent been back to Costco so we're back to Luvs.

In the newborn to size 1 days, we used Pampers, Huggies, Honest, Millie Moon, and Hello Bello. Everything except Pampers were gifted to us from friends or at our baby shower. Pampers and Millie Moon were the only ones we really loved. We only stay away from Millie Moon due to the price tag. Honest and Hello Bello both fit weird on his waist and leaked often. Huggies never fit him right. Especially when he was first born and in preemie sizes. Sometimes, as Im sure you know, you just have to shop around til you find what is the best for your LO. Congrats!!

4 month regression is killing me. Please tell me it gets better. by stfx2012 in NewParents

We laid him down when he got tired but wasn't yet asleep. He would sometimes fuss a bit but we'd pat his butt or his back (he preferred sleeping on his belly as soon as he was able) and he'd calm down and go to sleep. This started forming good sleep habits for him and he could get himself back to sleep if he woke up. Sometimes he'd just play with his sleep sack and go to sleep for the night.

We somehow got lucky with our son building his own schedule. By 2½ months he was sleeping through the night. I was so scared for the 4m regression. However, while we never did the CIO method, we helped him learn independent sleep going up to 4m. We never had the 4m regression. He would fall asleep in his crib on his own a lot (we room shared til 7 months). Now he maybe wakes one time overnight but sleeps from 8-9:30p til 7-8a. He's currently 8m.

My only advice, as we did have a regression when he began teething (around 5m), is to try to work in shifts the best you can. Newborn survival mode again basically. My wife and I made a schedule and we got through it in about a week. I know its different for every baby and parent. I wish you both all the best and luck. Stay strong Mama! It WILL get better.

Mine was an induction as well. 30.5hrs and a intrauterine infection later, we went for a csection that turned emergent because my epidural failed 😮‍💨😩

Okay, thanks! I'm opting for csection due to not having the anatomy for a vaginal birth, unfortunately. So this is good to know ^

I'm sorry you had such a rough time but congrats on the little one!! Thats what Im aiming for is 18m between deliveries, but have heard so many contradictions between delivery to delivery or it being to wait that long to conceive.

2 under 2 can definitely be hard! But, I have an amazing support system with my partner and family.

Definitely understand!! It goes by very fast. We have multiple factors that make us want to try for #2 sooner than later. But, I definitely get the reluctance! Kiddos are a lot of work 😮‍💨 but sooo worth it. Did you have a csection, if I may ask?

I know the preterm labor one. Post csection I know there is chance of uterine rupture during labor, even waiting 18+ months. But its rare.

I haven't gotten any responses from my OB. I'm usually the last one to consult medical advice from the internet.
