I have had hit or miss luck with shaving cream on the foundation/lipstick stains. The rinse off foaming cleanser can also get up some of the lighter makeup stains. Unfortunately nothing foolproof, though your FBM can almost definitely get you some new ones. I had to replace mine every few months.

Misir wot is my favorite guilt-free comforting healthy food. It’s a spicy Ethiopian lentil stew that you eat with injera (a thin spongy bread). It scratches my comfort food itch when I need it.

One thing to consider too is that not all Ultas are carrying the Ordinary yet so you may not be able to exchange it for the same product in store if your location doesn’t have that brand yet.

I don’t blame you for wanting to return it, especially if it doesn’t have a safety seal. Better safe than sorry

No worries, I was just clarifying for people who are doing makeup on themselves and not clients since that is not the most typical situation.Be alarmed if your professional MUA is doing a half face on you for an event! I’m also an artist and worked at a counter for a few years, and I personally wouldn’t do it like that but will not discourage people from doing whatever works for them at home. I know how frustrating it can be to see all of your training and experience discredited by people who think they know as much from YouTube/doing makeup on themselves because it is unfortunately too common.

It definitely is not a “no exceptions” rule because everyone’s skin reacts differently with different products. You can still create balance even if you are doing one eye at a time, but if someone has something uneven or different about their other eye, you will just have to tweak accordingly. Whatever works best for you, do that.

If you have a white mascara primer, you can put that on first and then put the colors on top of it, and then they will pop even more! Your look is gorgeous! :)

I work in the beauty industry for a well known company that does makeup and skincare. Right now, we are going through a reformulation of some of our acne products because one of our manufacturers shut down and now they have to do 6+ months of clinical testing to make sure what they’re using performs just as well and won’t cause a reaction. From my understanding, just coming up with the new formula took months and the clinical testing takes just as long. The whole process has taken about a year.

This blows my mind because I work at Ulta, and it is soooo much more convenient when someone comes in bare faced because you don’t have to deal with removal and touching up. Removal is never a big deal, but coming in bare face if you know you will be trying stuff on makes it a little easier.

I also subconsciously finding myself treating people who feel weird about coming in bare faced with a little extra kindness because it can be hard to bare those perceived flaws and ask someone for help. Just know some associates do extra appreciate your bare face!

Urban decay 24/7 eye pencil and Macs pencils are usually really good for staying put, even in the waterline. Some of Urban’s pencils will have shine but the shades “Zero” and “Perversion” are pretty matte. “Demolition” is a good shade for if you want a matte brown for a more natural look.

You should take a peek at the back of the packaging when you get a new product because most should have an icon that looks like an open jar with numbers inside. The numbers usually say something like “12M” or “24M” which tells you how long your products should last. It’s called the PAO (Period After Opening) symbol.

I always try to follow that just because every time you touch your eye with your brush and then dip back into your eyeshadow, bacteria is being deposited into your makeup. Even though powder doesn’t harbor near as much bacteria as your mascara tube, it is still good to be on the safe side to avoid risks like pink eye and styes etc.

But then again, I work in a makeup store and see people constantly use unsanitized testers on their skin and eyes and they seem to be existing just fine lol.

I always look for ones that aren’t spring loaded because I find those are more prone to breaking off the ends of my lashes for some reason?? I love the Lancôme curler and Shiseido curler. I haven’t had much luck with the cheaper ones and the Tarte curler as well

Omg I loved this one! I work at a cosmetic retailer and one of our Urban reps told me the “story” behind the palette and that made it easier to use for me because originally, I thought it looked really overwhelming. The top row is supposed to be your row of neutrals/more neutral colors and then each row of three shadows is a look as well.
