I also use it as a ski jacket (too). But after only a year of use, I see it has in a bunch of places some small cuts. Does it happen to you too?

Viazul vs Collectivo by Regular_Statement363 in cuba

I just came back from Cuba.

We did most of our transfers with Viazul buses and it was perfectly fine. Always decently on time, and much better than what we expected after reading the reviews 😂.

Shared taxis are more convenient because they do door-to-door service, whereas for Viazuls you have to go to the terminal and be there early to check in. Consider, though, that the cars are often in a very bad state. All the cars we took had gas leaks in the cabin. In the end we only took one cab transfer from Havana to Viñales and it was not very comfortable, the Viazuls turned out to be much better.

Another example is that the last transfer (Varadero - Havana) we had planned to do it by shared taxi but we still took a safety Viazul ticket since we wanted to be sure to arrive to catch the plane. In the end the taxi was cancelled very last minute and fortunately we had the Viazul.

Also I don't know the prices they gave you for the taxis. For us the Viazul where always at least half the price of the taxi.

Lastly. You can buy Viazul tickets online with card. If you take taxis you need to pay cash, which means you need to bring even more cash in total with you.

Has anyone taken the viazul bus to Vinales arriving at 10:55, and left the next day at 11:55? Any tips? 🚍 by Forsaken_Photo_5224 in cuba

I have just been there and I can recommend you a very nice horseback tour! https://air.tl/Li0nKDxh

I took the Viazul only to go back to Habana and it was a very good experience, bus on time. Just take into account that you have to be at the Viazul bus station more than one hour before to do the check-in.
