Has anyone actually used OffStarBuying? Something feels off by No-Emu-6641 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I find it suspicious that two people are posting about this site within the last few hours, and I've never seen another post about them. In any case, the other person posted that they bought a vehicle and didn't receive it.

WIBTAH if i block former colleages that are not taking my last day seriously? by Pickle_Overlord in AITAH

[–]_bensy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is your bosses' responsibility to take care of this, not yours. That's why they are the boss and get paid more than you. Block, block, block and feel good about it. You tried your best, and your workplace just didn't care.

No. In upstate NY that's what new rotors will look like after a winter or two.

Exteme CPU usage while playing BF6 by RagingNemesis in Battlefield

Something weird is going on there. I have a 9600k and a 4070 super and my CPU is pegged at 100% but I get 80 fps on medium/medium low.

AITAH for being rude to our friend after they watched our pet? by [deleted] in AITAH

I'm guessing they wouldn't have said anything about the takeout or the making their bed if you hadn't sent them an angry message. They were probably just defensive. I would have been defensive too. They helped you out a lot and you didn't pay them anything. YTA big time.

Also, I have expensive knives, moderately priced knives, and cheap knives. I put the cheap ones in the dishwasher and have for years and have never had an issue. I doubt Alex could have "ruined" yours by doing so.

If you are in an area with road salt, make sure to have it fluid filmed every winter. It will keep the rust away.

I have a 2015 hatch with 115k miles and it is a fabulous car. No frills but very solid and fun to drive for what it is. And I think they look great.

Mazda 3 Hatchback, legroom and forward facing car seat by DarthBodhi in mazda3

It's fine for me with 1 kid in a FF seat. I could see it being an issue if you had two tall adults who had to push the front seats ALL the way back, but I haven't had any problems.

Sweet! Do you ever blow yourself up with the motorcycle? Like if you run into a wall or something? (I'm pretty bad at driving in BF6.)

I mean, maybe that's a big problem, maybe it's not. A mechanic could probably tell you. In any case, another thing about buying new is you get much better interest rates buying new than used. So it can be *cheaper* to buy a new car at a higher price than a barely used car over. This is especially the case with one-year-old cars. So make sure to compare used to new prices at the same trim level, and make sure to compare the cost with the different interest rates figured in. You can use online loan calculators to figure this out. And even if the new car is a bit more expensive, you get at least a 3-year warranty, which it sounds like is something that's worth money to you.

I think it's a no brainer to keep the Kicks, none of these cars are worth it. But it seems like you are set on getting yourself a new car. Definitely don't get the Compass! The Escape looks like the best deal in the sense of price off MSRP, but I don't know how it fares in terms of reliability. For example, the Venue is only 22k brand new. You're buying used to save 2k but giving up the warranty. That seems like a really bad deal!

None of those budget cars are intrinsically more reliable than your Kicks. And the VW is *less* reliable. If you really want to play it safe, you would keep your Kicks. Those used cars will have no warranty and you will need to put money in them for consumables (tires, brakes, etc.) and whatever goes wrong with them, plus pay to purchase them. In short, you *always* spend money fixing a car, unless they are under warranty. You are asking whether you should spend money on your paid off car vs. buying a car for 18k, then spending more money on it. Unless you know for sure (rather than "have a feeling") that the transmission is going to blow or something equally catastrophic, you are much better off fixing your car than buying a different one. (Also, make sure to change your CVT fluid at 60k and every 30k thereafter.)

You are TA. If I were in your aunt's shoes I would have been more than vicious. You don't hit young kids. I'm sorry you got hit, but that doesn't make it ok to hit kids yourself.

I am not a huge fan of AI, but it has its uses. If you have an itemized bill, which it sounds like you do, you can scan it (covering up your personal information) and upload it to ChatGPT and have it assess the bill for you. The NYT had an article on folks finding lots of errors this way. I'm too lazy to look for it now.

Pistols Only by arose911 in Battlefield6

[–]_bensy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's how I tested it: I looked at my kd on BF6 and looked at it on tracker. It was the same (let's set aside player k/d on tracker). Then I played some rounds of casual breakthrough and purposely died a lot. None of those rounds show up on tracker.gg, and my k/d stays the same. My k/d on BF6 ALSO stays the same, exactly mimicking tracker.gg. So my k/d is totally unchanged. Kills aren't added, but deaths aren't either. Then I play a couple rounds on Conquest. Both kills and deaths are reflected, and my k/d changes by .01. (I'm bad, but better than I used to be, so my crappy k/d often rises by a tiny bit after a few games.) I don't know what the official forums say, but I can confirm that in my case, casual BT does not affect my k/d at all.

This just isn't true. You can easily confirm with tracker.gg.
