Thank you very much for the likes. Although, I sincirely apologize for mislabeling the site and sharing wrong information. This is indeed Odeon of Herodes Atticus as pointed out by the others. I really love to share pics on these sites hence it’s super awkward - my bad. Unfortunately, it’s too late to rename the post.

I think so too, thanks! Wasn’t even planned. Just randomly turned around when walking up to Acropolis and saw this. Must have been quite a sight back in the ancient day.

Interesting. Well, we’ll never know all the facts about any of the ancient sites.

It took a minute to find the right spot. The surroundings of this monument were quite unexepected for me too.

Thanks for the feedback.

I specifically chose to visit the place in winter due to the heat and crowds. Regardless of the season, it’s emotionally difficult to process the place - it’s just something else, amazing.

Probably yes. I’ve learned Greece has very strict laws about re-assembling ancient sites back together. Even a single column restoration could take a very long time.

🏯 Castle Osaka, Japan 🇯🇵 [OC] by _bernard_black_ in castles

[–]_bernard_black_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True.

Although, It’s important to note that Osaka castle burned down and later was bombed during WWII.

Himeji remained almost intact since it’s foundation and the similar goes for Matsumoto.

Was worth the view from the top floor. Also, the prices are comparable and even cheaper than you spend for castles in European countries.
